Customer Ratings & Reviews

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bought this mainly for backing up my photos and videos, and it has been amazing so far. Super fast transfers, no lag, and the size is perfect for travel. I’m really happy with this purchase.

This thing is tiny!!!! I have been wanting a portable SSD. Not to use as a main drive for backups but, given the 1TB of space I have been able to use it as that and a go between for my files and others files as well. It is quick! Given it being an SSD and USB-C that much is expected. I love that I can toss it in my bag and not have to worry about it! My only gripe is I wish that the cable was longer *that may cause an impact in performance I guess?* or something was included like a stand so it wouldn't put a bunch of tension on your USB port depending on the layout of your PC. Laptop users need not worry though!

It’s very small but so portable carries so much of my work in there and I can take it anywhere. Fast speed okay price but worth it for storage

I 1000% recommend this hard drive. I am a wedding photographer so the security of my raw images is my top priority. I have used LaCie, Western Digital passports and other external hard drives and have had 3 drives fail on me before. I have never had a problem with these Sandisk's. They are small, durable and fairly quick for editing on the go. I will always use SSD from here on out and these drives are my go-tos! I have three of these and will probably be ordering another one soon lol.

I bought this one particularly to use it on my PS5 as we know PS5 storage is sort of limited and no real expansion NVME is available now, however, you can plug an external SSD and play your PS4 games off of it in your PS5. That is exactly what I used it for and by God this one delivers. The load times is as fast and in some cases (The Last Of Us 2) it loads even faster than the internal SSD ( I don't know why). So if you are buying this for your next gen console storage I highly recommend this. Its compact and its great value if you get the deal price. It also has amazing transfer speed on my laptop to from NVME internal drive to this SSD. I have the previous gen SSD of this model and it is actually twice as fast transferring data. So get it now if you are looking for an external SSD.

The SanDisk Extreme Portable 1TB SSD is a fantastic compact storage solution. Its USB-C NVMe interface delivers blazing-fast transfer speeds, perfect for handling large files or backups on the go. The rugged, water- and dust-resistant design ensures durability, while the sleek black finish looks great. It’s lightweight, portable, and compatible with both PC and Mac. Though slightly pricey, its performance, build quality, and 1TB capacity make it an excellent investment for professionals and enthusiasts alike. Highly recommended for reliable, high-speed storage!

A very compact and portable SSD with a high capacity, it uses USB-C and comes with a USB-C to USB-A adapter in the box. The USB cable that comes in the box is very short but is the perfect length to connect and use, it doesn't really need a longer cable.

This thing is great! It is tiny, fast, and holds a TB of data! I use it to edit iMovie videos. It comes with a USB-C to A adapter, but it's not needed for me.

I love the device, it really small, blazing fast and easy to carry around. I'm using it as my MacBook time machine, highly recommended.

These things are SCARY fast and reliable. I have a bunch, and they’re the only SSD i’ve ever used. If you’re storing big files on an external drive, this is the one to get!

excellent storage amount for the prize. I use to store PC games, and work like a perfectly not delay. No problem since I bought it. Durable drop it a couple of times and still works as if nothing happen.

I am Leary about backing up my data especially items containing sensitive information to any cloud. I prefer to keep such items backed up locally. I found the SanDisk Extreme Portable 1TB external drive to be just the answer I needed. It is fast and reliable, and the physical size make it easy to store or transport if necessarily.

Excellent speed!! Very durable SSD definitely reliable if your'e looking for something that won't fail on you !!

Super fast. It took a little over 10 secs to put a 4k video at 7gbs on this drive. Compared to a little over 2 minutes on my Seagate external hard drive. I bought a longer cord from Amazon and it’s a difference of 1 second. I wanted a 2tbsbut it was out of my price range. Technically I need 4tbs but that price is over 400. That’s why I am keeping my Seagate because it is 4tb. Also I glad I bought this one because it is compatible to my M1 IMAC, where the Seagate I cannot put anything on it from my M1. I can only view items from it and can’t save changes. Also for Mac users, it comes with a usb-c cord and there is no need for an adapter. I highly recommend this Sandisk SSD.

One of the best external hard drives in the game. 1 TB is LOT for such a compact and teeny thing. This is great if you’re a photographer/videographer - OR if you’re a recent college grad / comp sci student with text books / scripts - etc that you want to store on an external drive. It may seem pricey but it’s worth investment just to store items that you aren’t 100% sure you want to keep locally.

High speeds at such a small footprint Highly recommend for photographers, videographers, or even for general storage needs

I needed a new storage device for my pictures after my laptop died. I didn’t want to risk losing years of memories. This is tiny and does the job. I bought a storage case on Amazon.

Fast. Portable. Does exactly what it's supposed to

Love the product. It’s amazing for storing your own data, pictures and videos. It’s has a lot of storage which I find amazing.
