About this product
2017 . Brooklyn instrumental post-metal power trio Sannhet formed in late 2010 and since then have been recognized as one of the most promising and newer prominent bands within the genre. Their sophomore album Revisionist (Flenser Records), was praised across the board, one of the most celebrated albums in this specific genre of that year, and now with their new full-length So Numb they have delivered their most transcendent album to date. For this album the band enlisted respected producer Peter Katis (The National, Interpol, Japandroids, Kurt Vile) who was essential in helping the trio reach a new level with their sound, going beyond the typical trappings of post-metal and expanding it into the realms of electronic, experimental, and ambient, while still upholding their heavy and punishing sound. The trio created songs with a stronger focus on songwriting, with more memorable and evocative melodies permeating the entire album, making it a listening experience like no other.

FOR FANS OF STEELEYE SPAN, JETHRO TULL, (EARLY) IN FLAMES.Although it is now quite a while since Svartsot have released new material, the band is still very much alive and kicking. In the interim since 2015's InchVældetInch, the beer-soaked folk metallers have been active on the live scene in Denmark and abroad, including appearances at various major festivals as well as at the prestigious 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise in 2019. After a change of bassist and the decision to shelve an album's worth of material in 2017/18, the idea of releasing a collection of traditional folk songs that have inspired the band, reworked in Svartsot's characteristic style, was spawned. The also marks the band's first collaboration with Danish metal tag, Mighty Music. InchKumblInch features 12 tracks that present a mixture of some relatively unknown and other more popular folk and late medieval songs from Denmark and across Northern Europe. Two songs feature guest vocal appearances by Andrea Uglebjerg, vocalist in the Danish punk band Situationsfornærmelse and sister of aforementioned Frederik. Three singles will be released InchLiden KirstenInch is a traditional Danish folk ballad telling the tale of how a king decided to make the lady of his desires the mother of his children and his queen without telling her first; InchCarmen VernaleInch is a song from around 1500, written by Morten Børup, cantor at Aarhus Cathedral, praising the arrival of spring and performed in the original Latin - the melody is played each hour by the bells of Aarhus Townhall; InchDrømte Mig en DrømInch is an elaboration on the oldest recorded Danish song, being handed down to us in a runic manuscript from ca. 1300. A music video will be released for InchLiden KirstenInch, while a lyric video version of InchDrømte Mig en DrømInch will also be available.

2017 . How often has primeval black metal been announced dead in the last twenty years? With their debut album Ett Fjärran Kall (A Call From Afar), Fornhem from Sweden prove those predictions to be pointless. While Vafthrudner and Solbane undoubtedly owe a lot to the aesthetics originally crafted by the pioneers of Scandinavian black metal, they nevertheless achieve to create their own approach by interpreting influences from a broad spectrum of folk (rock) music in a consciously minimalist and almost hypnotizing way. InchOur aim is to make music that moves forward, even if it's minimal and repetitive, and we think that adding something or making slight alterations in a riff or chord progression makes it come alive and breatheInch, explains Vafthrudner the proven method of Fornhem. InchBlack metal in general is quite beautiful music behind all the layers of noise, and we want to enhance that by using minimalism. Also, quieter moments or using acoustic instruments creates an interesting dynamic as opposed to the 'wall of noise'. Reflecting the folk aspect of Fornhem, Solbane adds InchI think folk music as well as folk rock/metal has an inherent catchiness to it, it's simple and direct music that comes from the heart. We are certainly influenced both by the variety of Nordic folk music, as well as folk rock / metal, but our main influence is old school black metal, most notably Burzum, Dark Throne and Bathory, and also 70s and 80s classic hard rock/metal styles.Inch

2020 . Too Numb To Know showcases Profligate continuing to shirk the heavy electronics of his early years for razor sharp pop. On 2018's Somewhere Else, Noah Anthony delivered dark pop gems while adding live instrumentations, reinvigorating his songwriting and sonic palette. This new song-driven approach gained praise from critics. Too Numb To Know followed Anthony from coast to coast, as he recorded his first demos in Philadelphia and then moved to Los Angeles, a city he found creatively challenging and emotionally depleting. After the theft of his computer-and with it the work he'd done in L.A.- Anthony took a friend's suggestion and moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where he finished the album and added contributions from allies like Matchess, Lazy Magnet, Gel Set, and Missions, among others.
