About this product

Boston based composer Marti Epstein releases this collection of her chamber music including clarinet, featuring Rane Moore and the Winsor Music ensemble. Marti Epstein is a composer whose music has been performed by the San Francisco Symphony, The Radio Symphony Orchestra of Frankfurt, Ensemble Modern, and members of the Boston Symphony. She has completed commissions for the Fromm Foundation, The Munich Biennale, the Ludovico Ensemble, Guerilla Opera, the Radius Ensemble, Tanglewood Music Center, Winsor Music, Boston Opera Collaborative, and the Callithumpian Consort. During the 2017-2018 concert season, Marti's work was featured extensively alongside the work of Anton Webern on the Trinity Wall Street's Time's Arrow Festival in New York City. Her music was also performed by the Boston Symphony Orchestra Chamber Players in Leipzig, Germany in June 2018. Her opera, Rumpelstiltskin, was presented with shadow puppetry in May 2019 in New York City. Sarah O' Brien - Impromptu - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

A common genre on the piano since Franz Schubert, there are far fewer impromptus for the harp than one might think. Sarah O'Brien, longtime principal harpist of the Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam and the Munich Philharmonic, presents here a compendium of all impromptus for harp. She has collected both well-known works and surprising rarities, which she supplements with 20th-century compositions and spices up with a few 18th-century gems that are also ideally suited as arrangements for her instrument.

Sarah Leonard - Poemes Pour Mi - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

What makes Olivier Messiaen's œuvre so special is, to a great extent, his ability to coalesce various influences, inspirations, and convictions into a wholly individual and perfectly coherent musical language. This includes the development of the modal harmonies of earlier centuries as much as it does an engagement with rhythms from non-European traditions. The wealth of colors in his works stems, in part, from Messiaen's synaesthetic ability to perceive chords as various shapes and colors. As an enthusiastic ornithologist, he spent much time in nature, notating birdsong and then working those, in stylized form, into his compositions. But most importantly, Messiaen's work is governed by his profound faith. Messiaen once said of himself that he didn't primarily see himself as a composer but as an Inchornithologist and rhythmistInch. Album Tracks 1. Les Offrandes Oubliées = the Forgotten Offerings 2. Poèmes Pour Mi (= Poems for Mi) - Version FÜR Sopran Und Orchestra (= Version for Soprano and Orchestra) 3. Chronochromie - Pour Grand Orchestra (= for Large Orchestra)
