About this product
Limited 140gm vinyl LP pressing. 2017 . North Carolina's Sarah Shook sings with a conviction and hard honesty sorely lacking in much of today's Americana landscape. Always passionate, and at times profane, Sarah stalks/walks the line between vulnerable and menacing. You can hear in her voice what's she's seen; world weary, hard lessons learned-or not-but always defiant. She level-steady means what she says. The Disarmers, with their snarling boom-chicka-boom guitars and an Old 97's swing in the rhythm section, keep it in the pocket. Tight and tough. Sidelong rides in the middle seat, before seat belts, of a '77 Buick Riviera blasting down a dirt road. Rowdy punk rock sneer to the right, a bottle in a bag; organic country three chords and the truth honesty on the left-one eye in the rear view mirror and one eye on the rough road ahead. It's a hell of a ride. Writing with a sense of urgency-so refreshing these days it's almost startling, Sarah's lyrics are in turn smart, funny, mean and above all honest. Sly turns of phrase so spot on they feel as old and true as the hymnal. Anger that's confrontational as it is concise. Humor that's as wry and resigned as a fallen sage's.

Limited 140gm vinyl LP pressing. 2018 . Years solidifies the point Sarah Shook & The Disarmers have moved from getting people's attention to commanding it. The bands' new album-with it's sharpened songwriting, unique perspective, deepened sound and roll-up-your-sleeves attitude-will grab you by the collar and put a defiant finger to your chest. It is resolute, blunt, and unflinching.

Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing. Digitally remastered reissue. Just Another Way to Say I Love You is the self-produced fourth album by American R&B singer Barry White, released in 1975 on the 20th Century tag. Barry White was a singer-songwriter, musician, record producer and composer. A three-time Grammy Award-winner known for his distinctive bass-baritone voice and romantic image, White's greatest success came in the 1970s as a solo singer and with The Love Unlimited Orchestra, crafting many enduring soul, funk, and disco songs. During the course of his career in the music business, White achieved 106 gold albums worldwide, 41 of which also attained platinum status. White had 20 gold and 10 platinum singles, with worldwide record sales in excess of 100 million, and is one of the best-selling music artists of all time. His influences included James Cleveland, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Elvis Presley, The Supremes, The Four Tops, and Marvin Gaye.

Throughout the LP, there are cathartic, snarling kiss-offs to villainous men (InchMotherfuckerInch) but also moments of tenderness and ecstasy. Shook describes closer InchCriminalInch as their Inchgay cowboy songInch, the torturous longing of the lyrics is anchored by shimmering guitar leads from Blake Tallent and bastioned by drummer Jack Foster's hypnotic rhythms. River sings, InchIf lovin' you will always be a crime I'll always be a criminal.Inch It's a triumphant line that highlights Shook's emotional sturdiness. InchThat line got me thinking about how we as queer people have been persecuted, and how we so often have to keep all kinds of things under wraps because of the law because of social taboo,Inch says Shook. InchI wanted InchCriminalInch to portray these feelings of longing and desire that two gay people can have for each other. They're complicated feelings because human beings are complicated. Gay love is every bit as complicated as straight love.Inch - Revelations is the most assured Sarah Shook and the Disarmers record yet because it so pointedly captures the gamut of the human experience anger, sadness, confusion, love, and acceptance. It's a document of Shook at the top of their game and a reflection of their own journey not just as a writer but as a person. InchI'm a firm believer that if you are an artist, and you want to make better art, a big part of that isn't just exercising your musical skills, it's growing as a human being,Inch says Shook. InchSo every time I make a record, I want to be able to listen to it and look back on who I was then. I want to see this arc and this evolution. That's really fncking important to me.Inch EXPLICIT LYRICS
