Sarah Watts - Recital Music for Bass Clarinet & Piano - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

This album features a collection of works from the past 50 years for bass clarinet and electronics.

Alza tu voz Himnos de Charles Wesley is the Spanish-language companion to the album, Lift Up Your Voice Hymns of Charles Wesley, a powerful selection of Wesley hymns to be released in both English and Spanish. Considered of one of the most noted writers of Christian hymnals with a staggering output that included 6,000 documented works, this collection features the acclaimed ensemble, and commissioned for this piece by the Foundation The Choral Arts Society of Washington's Chamber Singers in a selection of his most popular hymns, with the premiere of some translations heard for the first time.

The sparkling, shimmering surface of music of Castiglioni's work is quite unlike anything else in modern Italian music. Coloured by his work in the theater and literary allusion these piano pieces are wonderfully played by Sarah Nicolls.
