About this product
Two Sasami's exist in harmony. First is Sasami Ashworth, the conservatory-trained classical French horn player, producer, and composer-an artist with a studious approach to craft. And then there is all-caps SASAMI, the fearless performer and protagonist of her three increasingly audacious albums. For Blood On the Silver Screen, these two sides fused for her most epic and realized music to date the all-out Sasami pop record. After establishing herself with the poised melancholia of her eponymous 2019 debut, Sasami embraced volume and control on 2022's Squeeze-touring with a metal band-but her goal on Blood On the Silver Screen was to speak her truth with conviction by singing. Working with co-producers Jenn Decilveo and Rostam, with Sasami as sole writer, each Blood On the Silver Screen track viscerally captures a different thread of love, S*x, power, and embodiment. InchPop music is like fuel,Inch Sasami says. 2019 . Twenty years into their career, Tegan and Sara have recorded an album that is based on the first songs they ever wrote. Hey, I'm Just Like You is their ninth studio album overall and first since 2016's Love You to Death. Hey, I'm Just Like You is a return to Tegan and Sara's rock and punk roots, with a punch of pop production. Recorded in Vancouver, Canada in April and May 2019, the album recasts the remarkable innate songwriting talents both possessed as teenagers, and allows these previously unreleased songs to benefit from the studio expertise they have gained in the past two decades - a period that has seen them eight studio albums, earning seven Gold certifications and one Double Platinum certification in the process. Defiant and melodramatic, the songs capture the exultation and grief of first loves, first losses, ecstatic kiss-offs, and psychedelic tributes to friendship. Album Tracks 1. Hold My Breath Until I Die 2. Hey, I'm Just Like You 3. I'll Be Back Someday 4. Don't Believe the Things They Tell You (They Lie) 5. Hello, I'm Right Here 6. I Don't Owe You Anything 7. I Know I'm Not the Only One 8. Please Help Me 9. Keep Them Close 'Cause They Will FNCK You Too 10. We Don't Have Fun When We're Together Anymore 11. You Go Away and I Don't Mind 12. Sasami (aka Sasami Ashworth) has been making music in the Los Angeles area, in almost every way you can, for the last decade. From playing French horn in orchestras and studios and playing keys, bass, and guitar in local rock bands (Cherry Glazerr, Dirt Dress), to contributing vocals/string/horn arrangements to studio albums (Curtis Harding, Wild Nothing, Hand Habits) and producing on tracks for other respected artists (Soko), she has gained a reputation as an all-around musical badass. Sasami's self-titled debut album is playful, heartfelt and personal, chronicling the surprising ways that relationships - with lovers, with friends, with oneself - can shift in a single year. Sasami says, Inch'Not the Time' and 'Callous' are basically entries in the diary that is my first record of songs. Maybe it's a mix of a diary and a collection of letters; written but never sent, to people I've been intimately involved with in one way or another.Inch Album Tracks 1. I Was a Window (Feat. Dustin Payseur) 2. Not the Time 3. Morning Comes 4. Free (Feat. Devendra Banhart) 5. Pacify My Heart 6. At Hollywood 7. Jealousy 8. Callous 9. Adult Contemporary (Feat. Soko) 10. Turned Out I Was Everyone
