Most of the album was written in a forest cabin, with the collaboration of Snorre Ruch (Thorns). It was recorded in part at Sound City Studios in Van Nuys, California. In this studio bands like Metallica and Nirvana had also recorded. In support of the The Age of Nero the band did a full European headlining tour in November /December 2008.
