About this product

Savoy Brown (originally Savoy Brown Blues Band) were an English blues rock band formed in Battersea, south west London, in 1965. Part of the late 1960s blues rock movement, Savoy Brown primarily achieved success in the United States, where they promoted their albums with non-stop touring. Founder, guitarist and primary songwriter Kim Simmonds was the sole constant member of the band from it's formation in 1965 until his death in 2022. In the late 1970s, Simmonds organized the band with singer Ralph Morman, formerly of the Joe Perry Project, drummer Keith Boyce and guitarist Barry Paul of Heavy Metal Kids fame, and bassist John Humphrey. This line-up recorded the 1981 Rock 'N' Roll Warriors album, which gave Savoy Brown more success than the group had seen since the mid-1970s. The single InchRun to MeInch, a cover of a song originally recorded by Smokie, became Savoy's highest-charting single in the United States, peaking at number 68 on the Billboard Hot 100 on the week of 31 October 1981.

The Strawbs - Alive In America - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

One of the better British progressive bands of the early '70s, The Strawbs differed from most groups principally in that their sound originated in English folk music, rather than rock. They are best known for their hit InchPart of the UnionInch, which reached number two in the UK Singles Chart in February 1973, as well as for InchLay DownInch, a popular progressive rock hit from the same LP. Strawbs toured with Supertramp in their InchCrime of the CenturyInch tour, doing their own InchHero and HeroineInch tour, which drew musical similarities and themes. In a review in Rolling Stone in 1974, Ken Barnes wrote InchStrawbs moved from folkier days to a rich, stately and mellotron-dominated sound, with similarities to Yes, King Crimson and the Moody Blues. They wrote more compelling songs than the former two, and possessed more lyrical/musical substance than the latter.Inch

Half Moon Run is a talented young trio from Ottawa, Ontario and Comox, British Columbia. Armed with solid and raw talent, they mix and combine their different musical backgrounds. Their complex arrangements, inspired by both classical and modern composers, are particularly striking to hear and see during their live shows.
