About this product
Frances The Scaners are ready to take off with their debut LP which takes the listener through a darker, slower wave that Louder Than War Magazine describes as a swirlingly mesmeric menace of guttural growls backing a looming snarl over a dark driving rhythm. The Scaners time is now! They're ready to launch their sonic full-scale abduction of planet Earth. With extraterrestrial titles like Checkpoint Planet, No Place In Space, We Want To Talk To Your Leader and Flying F**k, this album is certainly not from the traditional, third-dimensional garage-punk reality. Yes, it has the mainframe DNA of The Ramones and The Dickies, but draws heavily on classic fourth-dimensional synth spirits like Devo and Suicide, coupled with modern acolytes like The Spits and Useless Eaters. The group, in their short tenure have shared the stage with the likes of The New Bomb Turks, UK Subs, Frustration, Ausmuteants, Zeke, JC Satan, Los Pepes, Les Lullies, and Royal Headache.a1 Abduction a2 Spacecraft a3 I Don't Want To Go a4 Checkpoint Planet a5 The Dries a6 Enjoy Your Flight b1 Place In Space b2 We Want To Talk To Your Leader b3 Video Tape b4 Flying F**k b5 Modern Fissure b6 Levitation Train 2077 Album Tracks 1. French gonzo-synth punks and intergalactic scuzzball house band. Miscreants from a future generation. Clad in white from head to toe, bug-eye shades peer out through a dirty water fog. They play a blistering set of songs that will propel them through the atmosphere on a fix of adrenalin in 2019. Is it the past or the future, for the present seems far away? This second album is a breakthrough moment, when the crawling Lo Spider once again takes control of this paranoiac, extra-terrestrial-abducted and abducting quartet and bounces the finished 12 doses into the hands of garage master Jim Diamond for mastering. The result? Another bombastic, swirling garage acid trip through the stratosphere. Insane flights in the spiked punch bowl that is our galaxy. Gonzo space punk a-go-go. The songs on II fly by full of alien abandon. More new-wave than their debut, but still an intergalactic riot. Europe is on the move, succumbing to the infectious tractor beam-like tunes of The Scaners. All that is left is for the rest of the world to awake from their lucid dream state, shake off their shackles, and take flight.1 Please Abduct Me 2 Catch Up With A UFO 3 Random City 4 Mars Attacks 5 Space X-ploration 6 Galactic Race 7 X-ray Glasses 8 Spin Like A Record 9 Don't Run, We're Your Friends 10 No Panic, No Stress 11 Pesticide Kids 12 Run DD Run

Sliding up from out from under, from the old heart of the Bay Area... from out of nowhere even-it's a special new band. Hands up for the sweet and sour popsicles of PEACERS! Pop music in the new century-what's it all about? In the hands of PEACERS, it is BAKED-a vanillan cake with sweet sooty icing. Shades of the Bratish invision compressions and crushes, bone-shakes and glutinous thinks, a wisp of the blues, ardor and romance scraping like the ceiling at your back. Carrying on like rock and roll never happened already, PEACERS unpack a century's-worth of progress in fresh tunage, capering to classic beats such as 'jetset, showtunes, British psyc (blues), D.I.Y., subterranean homesic, EMI (pistols)' and the rest. PEACERS' debut is a max dash through the gutted and the gutter, all of which is written home about with a gleeful cock of the skull and twinkle in eye. The perspex of the songs and production both is saddled and well-traveled, but fresh under the glass -unmistakably out the poison-nib (well) of MIKE DONOVAN whose hits with SIC ALPS will live forever, like candy wrappers glittering up from the sewer. And who's producing you, Peacers? Mike D's ole SF cohort himself, TY SEGALL, whose rhythm sections and arrangement-commendations re-cast most of the tunes on the rec with copacetic co-ness!
