Scarlet Rebels - Where The Colours Meet - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

On 'Ways Of Seeing' Konx-om-Pax has switched up the mood and hit gold. He has made an album filled with joy and sunshine, saturated with the feel of Berlin Techno. Tom Scholefield has moved on from the dark ambient and brittle rave of the first two Konx-om-Pax albums, which were a reflection of his hometown Glasgow's music scenes. After a recent move to Berlin, the textures of Glasgow's musical strains have fused into an accessible and friendly mix of poppy melodic electronica built from a stricter 'less is more' sound pallete, closer in spirit to the music of his adopted city. It's also a record which was made in opposition to recent music he has been hearing, in particular the troubled, dark and noisy experimental music coming out of Berlin. Tom wanted to focus on more joyful qualities, making this a record imbued with warmth and happiness, a panacea to the darkness and disorientation all of 2019. Stripped away to just the good bits, 'Ways Of Seeing' is a pleasure to listen to.A LA MelodySäule Acid (ft. Silvia Kastel)Paris 5amB I'm For Real (ft. This album, recorded over an intense three-day window in Berlin, brings together Charif Megarbane and the Jakarta-based band Ali. Their collaboration builds on a long, organic history of musical exchange between Indonesia and the Arab world, blending shared references, improvisation, and years of band experience. Rather than a conceptual fusion project, the record evolved naturally through spontaneity and the musicians' overlapping backgrounds. The title Tirakat reflects this process, a word rooted in both Arabic and Javanese traditions, capturing discipline, journey, and the layering of influences that shaped the album. Album Tracks 1. 2016 . Preceded by the acclaimed lead single InchVenusInch, Scarlet Rascal their much anticipated debut LP; an ambitious, rough and ready achievement which marries driving guitars with dark, hazy sonic textures and a strikingly deep vocal sound. Scarlet Rascal unite a distinct concoction of alternative ideas that tap into Joy Division, The Birthday Party and Love-era The Cult whilst also neatly neighboring the likes of The Velvet Underground and Jesus and Mary Chain. Mixed by Geoff Barrow of Portishead and Craig Silvey (New Order/Baxter Dury/The Horrors), Scarlet Rascal's debut LP is a ringing, tense and unique proposition. Album Tracks 1. Pearl 2. Woland 3.
