It's done.
It's really good, and it's really simple. Take the top piece, hold it up against the bottom piece. I think you unscrew the bottom piece first. But you push the 2 slowly but firmly together and it'll pop in place. Then, rotate the screw from the bottom piece over the top part, a ball joint down. So that everything is locked and secure, the top piece will then swivel Around the bottom piece. The instructions in the box don't tell you this. There is no video that it just shows somebody doing it as of today. Basically, I'm screwing something, putting the top on the bottom, popping it in, tightening it down and then unscrewing it and putting it in the cup holder. Sorry guys, it took me longer than it should to figure this simple thing out. I have strong hands and I'm afraid of breaking stuff. I have been there and done that. It was a little frustrating in the beginning. But after a little quiet, humble prayer, because I can be a klutz, I gave it some time, and then I went at it and it worked. This is a very nice, very simple thing to put in your car. It's required to have something like this. In southern California and so yeah, you know, it's done. I like it. It does what I needed to do. I drive a car, not a big truck. So I don't need a whole long length of a neck. I'm good. I would recommend this to a friend. If you need something, it's gonna hold up for a bit. And if you're not too rough on your stuff, this is a good thing to have. The only weakness I see is when you expand the piece to put your phone in, it feels like something you should be a little more delicate with just so it can go the long haul. I have a larger smartphone with a little case going around it that's kind of slim, and it almost maxes out this device with how big of a phone you can put in it. I don't have regrets, but you know, if you want something that's even sturdier world with putting your phone in the holder and taking it out and doing it on a daily basis when you get In-N-Out of your vehicle. I understand. For me, it's good enough. The price did not break the bank.

Seems Reliable and Will Keep It
Okay, I originally had a cup-holder iphone holder I got from Ace Hardware that just fell apart after a couple of years, to replace it I ordered from Amazon a vent-mount version that wouldn't stay up and was cheaply made and had to return. Then got one from a local auto parts store where the cheap plastic brackets that allegedly hold the phone wouldn't stay put and kept failing so the phone fell over and had to return that. This one had very good overall reviews and it holds my phone tightly in place and seems quite reliable. My only gripe is that there is no button or level to open and close either side of the holder; you just have to push it open (with both hands!) and place or slide the phone in between. And then to take the phone you need two hands to pull apart the sides of the holder. If someone can tell me where there is a release button or knob or lever, I'd appreciate it. Otherwise, I am keeping this one.
