Scott Wilk & the Walls - Scott Milk and The Walls - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

'Functional,' is the seventh studio album for NE Ohio native, Scott Paris. By far his best work to date, this album also includes the likes of Hey Monea! (Hard Rock Records) and Peter DiStefano (of Porno For Pyros).

Scott McCarl may have only appeared on a single Raspberries (their 1974 swan song, Starting Over), but the bassist was a very talented singer/songwriter - one of the reasons why Eric Carmen and company enlisted him in the first place. So why it took McCarl so bloody long to issue a solo album in the wake of the Raspberries' 1975 split-up was a bit puzzling to fans. Titled after his best-known Raspberries composition, Play On surfaced in 1998, and showed that despite the long layoff, McCarl's gift for Beatlesque vocals and power pop had not dulled in the slightest. Standouts include such melodic originals as InchI'll Be on My Way,Inch InchIn Love Without a Girl,Inch and InchRun for the Sun,Inch as well as a pair of covers - InchYes It IsInch by the Beatles and InchNobody KnowsInch by his old pals, the Raspberries. Hardcore Raspberries fans should definitely try to hunt down a copy of Play On - it's pretty darn impressive how well McCarl single-handedly approximates his former band's sticky-sweet sound.

2017 . With heart of a genuine Texas bluesman, the head (banging) of Zappa and Lemmy disciple and boots resting in the dust outside of town at sunrise, Scott H. Biram journeys through the harrowing human condition like no one else. A walk on the Biram side-straddles the chasm between sin and redemption, and The Bad Testament lands somewhere west of the Old Testament and south of an AA handbook. It's a record of hard grinding lost love and deep, dark Americana with songwriting on the razor's edge of aggression and deftness, thoroughly contemporary but steeped in the backwaters, back porches, and back alleys of our collective musical heritage.
