Secret Cities - Walk Me Home - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Gaadi of Truth isn't just a party; it's the work of a band that takes care to examine the way the world sees it's members. Sonny Singh is a Sikh who finds himself patted down at airports more than the others, while Red Baraat's two African-American members are pulled over more often than their colleagues in the South. These experiences spark some of the writing on Gaadi of Truth, which looks at the world from many points of view.

This Year Secret Machines bridge the chasm of time with their full length EP THE ROAD LEADS WHERE IT 'S LED. Uncovering the dreamy, neo-psychedelic alternative band's unique set of influences. This album features two new songs plus covers of Van Morrison's InchAstral Weeks,Inch a nine-minute version of Bob Dylan's InchGirl from the North Country,Inch a seven-minute rendition of the '60s Motown hit InchMoney (That's What I Want)Inch and InchDe Luxe (Immer Wider)Inch from Harmonia, one of the legendary bands of Krautrock.

Drawing on fractured psych, girl groups and minimalist composers, Secret Cities have conjured a kaleidoscopic, strangely moving whole out of disparate pieces. Distorted loops, drones, and thundering toms underpin distant voices. Pianos are pounded. Grainy acoustic guitars come through like AM transmissions received deep underground. But even as strange sounds and frequencies get pushed out front, the melodies get top billing. From the galloping heartbreak of opener Pink City to the final, cathartic of the End, Graffiti Tapes is pop music turned in on itself.
