Many waves to the thick of it, a sonic memory, a tremolo boat in the summer sun. Nothing withers away full speed ahead, here comes Semi Trucks with Georgia Overdrive. Across 10 tracks, Brenden Sepe (guitar and vocals) Finn Beard (guitar and vocals), Bronwyn Bradshaw (bass and vocals) and Ian Collins (drums), craft their pop morale with a crude underpinning. An ever ending daisy chain. Shackled loosely in big blue, in the wide open sun stained streets, in a garage on Lexington, in the small bars where everyone acts like stars. Clean guitar, flaccid guitar, noise guitar. InchWell I heard you say, You're going far away so you can see the shape and the state I'm in, and what was found was lost someway..InchRecorded in the spring of 2024 in Los Angeles with Robbie Cody (Wand, Pink Trash Can) Georgia Overdrive plays like a best-of, hit-laden gut punch. Rocking back and forth as they sing barefoot, sprawled out in a grass field clutching a summer hits floppy disc. Moments pass you with an air of Velvets or Sonics to the late 80's SST rockers Opal, or down the way, sometimes recalling indie expressionists Summer Hits to culminate in a tenderness and noise wrangling that is homegrown in their native city of Los Angeles. This being the first Semi Trucks album with a full band line up (Sepe released InchVs CaliforniaInch as a solo bedroom effort in 2021), they went hard and took great care to strike with depth and precision, weaving feedback and sugar-coated hooks. Sepe's effortless vocal melodies dance with the breathy delivery of Bradshaw's. The interplay and volleying is effortless as the record unfolds to reveal deeper revelations. A wildfire. Cracked ceramics. Orange and pink flakey chrome in a can. BACK IN PRINT - PRICE INCREASE - Cindy Lee, the performance and songwriting vehicle of Canadian artist Patrick Flegel (who fronted influential indie group Women earlier), previously stunned listeners with Act Of Tenderness, a heart-wrenching statement informed by the noirish core of celebrity, and has continued to enchant with every album, including the startling What's Tonight To Eternity released earlier this year. Model Express originally appeared as a self-released edition of 100 gold cassettes. The arch, filmic drama of Cindy Lee's songwriting-realized with keyboards, guitars, aching voice and collaged, lo-fi production-traverses a wide range of emotional and sonic terrain. Model Express finds Flegel at both their most experimental and immediately melodic, and this first-time vinyl recognizes the collected tracks as a pillar in the Cindy Lee catalogue. Cindy Lee (who uses the gender neutral pronoun they) is a drag persona drawing on suburban closet queens and mid-century divas. In keeping with Flegel's interest in the faultlines of identity, gender expression, performance and media, Model Express delivers an intense and diverse set of unforgettable songs.
20 Anos was initially released on May 18, 1990. The album was produced by Spanish singer-songwriter, composer and record producer Juan Carlos Galderon, who had worked on the two previous albums by Luis Miguel. A large majority of the tracks from the album received radio airplay but the hit singles were InchTengo Todo Excepto A Ti, InchEntrégateInch, InchSera Que No Me AmasInch and more. In1991, the album received a nomination for a Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album for the 33rd Annual Grammy Awards. The album broke the record in Mexico of most copies sold in one weekend with 600, 000 copies sold.
