TLDR: Tiny, fit in ear, rechargeable in battery equipped case, good sounding, open design so safer to use when running, walking, biking or in public. Great for phone use, resistant to water, not over-priced, 28 hrs per charge, charges up in 1 hour. Matte finish is good for looking good & grip. These are packaged in a small paper-based box with a minimum of plastic which as we know eventually ends up as plastic waste in our water and food supply. You will need to charge them first; it takes about an hour to fully charge them using a common USB-C charger adapter and the included cable or just plug in any USB-C phone charging cable you probably have plugged into a handy outlet at home. BTW, the charger case LED glows green when fully charged from a pale yellow. To connect a new Bluetooth device, you need to tap/hold both buds at the same time. It shows that and other functions on the strictly pictorial small foldout pamphlet that is packed with these devices. Bluetooth pairing mode commences instantly when the charging case is opened These high-quality earphones are very light and comfortable. They are so light you will forget they are in your ears after a bit of time. They connect to Bluetooth really fast, which is not the case with some other brand name pricey devices. The ability to switch between other devices (multi-point) is also very good. When removed from the ears the sound stream is paused. Nice! The touch gestures to control them work fine. I use them with my laptop and carry them in my backpack laptop bag since they literally add almost no weight to my bag. Officially they weigh about 4 ounces with the charger case. As of this time there is no companion app. BTW, the Sennheiser Smart Control app on Google Play does not include these models as applicable. That may change in the future but honestly, the music quality from these Sennheisers is great as it is out of the box. They are semi-open which means you are not blocked from outside sounds and therefore it is safer to use while enjoying news, music or phone calls outside among the public. Using these one realizes the sound is very clear and the lows, mids, and highs are all there and produced nicely. Using these while listening to familiar music I realized I could distinguish some lyrics and some music notes better than I had ever detected before. Even the bass guitar tones are very pronounced and deep down low depending on what music you play. I used them on a few phone calls and the built-on microphone quality is OK. Others did not say I sounded bad. Do they stay in my ears? They do but be careful when using them on more energetic activities such as running or playing tennis or other sports. I have seen the famous white ones falling into a hot tub since the user wanted to wear them there. None of the in-ear earphones are spill proof. These Sennheiser Accentum Opens sound good, last long and are a sure deal at a decent price.

For outdoor exercise and at work, I like to wear open-ear headphones to keep track of my surroundings and not feel isolated. As the name implies, The Sennheiser Accentum Open earbuds are open-ear earbuds that prioritize situational awareness over immersive sound. During the past few days, I took them for a spin in both environments to see if they would win me over. First, I like the simplicity of the set-up; no app needed, just Bluetooth connection.They can be connected to up to 8 different devices, and simultaneously to 2 devices; I tried it with my tablet and cell phone connected at the same time, and changing from one to the other was seamless. The connectivity is solid even over 25 feet. The stemmed design of the Sennheiser Accentum Open makes it easy to place the earbuds over your ear canal without pressure. Each stem houses a responsive control panel with simple commands to your audio device by either tapping or holding. One feature I like is the smart pause when one earbud is removed. They are light and well built with nice little details like the Sennheiser logo imprinted on each stem. The sound itself is very good as expected from Sennheiser. It is clear and detached and a step above my other open-ear headphones that are no slouches either. They have enough power to be enjoyed in a fairly noisy environment. As expected from an open-ear design, the bass is not a priority but is still discretely noticeable. Those earbuds go on forever by the way. Sennheiser claims up to 28 hours of battery and I won’t dispute it. I wear them at work for hours, and they go back to their charging case at the end of the day with plenty of charge left. Phone calls are clear with receptive controls. Those lightweight earbuds are comfortable to wear all day, however my main issue is their small size. I have a rather large ear canal and they won’t stay put for a long period. Sitting at my desk at work, they stick to my ears and feel very comfortable. The pressure is minimal and barely noticeable. However, in several instances while eating, the movements of my lower jaw would loosen them and I would need to readjust them. My experience outdoors while cycling didn’t go as planned as one earbud fell off and I almost lost it. In my case, due to the small size of the earbuds and my larger ear canal, I have refrained from wearing them for outdoor activities. Despite not fitting me perfectly, Sennheiser made a quality open-ear device with the Accentum Open earbuds. I know many other users won’t have the same issue, but it performs very well in terms of sound quality, and its simplicity makes it an easy choice for those looking for an open-ear design, where staying tuned into the environment is more important than isolated pure sound fidelity.

I've really been putting these earbuds to the test. If you're wondering what they're actually like to use, let me share my honest thoughts. Right from the moment I opened the box, they felt high-end. The all-black design is subtle yet super sleek no flashy logos or odd shapes, just a clean, modern vibe. But what really impressed me was how comfortable they are. Once I put them in, they felt so light and natural, almost like I wasn't wearing anything at all. I had them in for a solid three hours, and honestly, I barely noticed they were there. Connecting them was a piece of cake, just a standard Bluetooth setup, no hassle at all. The controls on the earbuds are super intuitive, making it easy to adjust the volume, skip tracks, and take calls without any awkward fumbling. The battery life has been impressive; I find myself charging them far less often than I anticipated, which is always a nice surprise. So, are they right for you? After spending some quality time with them, I can confidently say these earbuds are fantastic for a particular kind of listener. If you value a sound experience that’s incredibly natural, spacious, and detailed, and you usually listen in a quiet environment, you’re going to adore these. They’re comfortable enough for hours of use, they look stylish, and most importantly, they make your music feel truly alive. If you’re ready to dive into the open-ear experience, these are definitely worth a look.

Sennheiser now has a set of open ear buds that are oriented for those who are exercise/sports enthusiasts. The open ear design helps to hear sounds around you, but they do not have noise canceling due to the open design. If you are running track, in the gym, or walk/bike along low traffic roads, etc., you may like the open design. Charge Case The charge case is small enough to fit easily in my pocket. The slots in side make it easy to insert and remove the ear buts. The charge case will charge the ear buds each time you insert them and can playback music for about an hour with a short 10 minute charge. Given who this are intended for, that feature is something I like. While out, if the charge gets low on them, I isn’t going to take too long for me to get a reasonable charge on them in as little as 10 minutes. The charge case has a power indicator led on the bottom as well as a USB-C charge port. They come with a short USB-C to USB-A charge cable. The short cable fits easily in my pocket if I need to take it along with me, but the charging case is usually going to be enough for me. Ear Buds The ear buds are very light weight and look good. They are IPX4 rated, so sweating while wearing them isn’t something I’m worried about. Each ear bud has two mics. Calls I’ve has while using them have worked very well. The callers on the other end said they could hear me clearly. During calls, I did not experience any cut out neither did I experience any drop while listening to audio books and music. The sound quality is what I have come to expect from Sennheiser. Sennheiser says I should be able to get up to 6 hrs of playback time out of a charge of the ear buds. I got a little less than that, but it does depend on volume and other settings. The ear buds can pair with up to 8 devices. This is helpful to me because I have two tablets, two phones, an e-ink reader that can play audio books, and 2 laptops. It supports profiles for all of them. It will only playback audio from one device at a time, but that is common with multi-point pairing ear buds or head phones. I was happy to see this support with the Accentum Open ear buds. Another benefit is that the Accentum Open ear buds don’t require an app. You can perform all the controls from the ear buds. Just pair to a device and move on. That’s helpful to simplify getting them connected to a device without fuss. Final Thoughts I like the look and weight of the Accentums. The charge case is straight forward and of solid design. Not having to use an app with them is a big plus. In my use, I have yet to run into any problem with them. Sennheiser has a solid set of ear buds and charge case for sports enthusiasts. I hope to see Sennheiser continue on with the Accentum Open series ear buds. I would recommend considering them if you needs ear buds for exercising or sports activities.

This compact and capable TWS headphone is simple to use, provides great sound plus the ability to hear your surroundings whether they are on or off. The case is compact and battery life is quite good. No frills - just great Sennheiser sound in a simple set of “open” headphones. Highlights: * Tiny and lightweight case * Great sound * Can hear through without having to use a Transparency Mode * Comfortable * Good battery life (6hrs in buds, 28hrs with case) * Quick charge of 10 minutes for an hour of use * Multipoint connectivity * Remove to pause * No app Room for Improvement: * No wireless charging - have to plug in * Only status LED is on the bottom by the charging port * No ANC or passive sound blocking * No app for firmware updates or settings True wireless headphones are getting very feature-rich, but in doing so, they add a ton of complexity. While most don’t need apps to work, they almost require them to get the most of the buds. Plus, all of those extra features like Active Noise Cancellation usually necessitate more power and lower battery life. Setup: Unlike many others that may not require an app but highly recommend one for setup, this headset is super simple. Plug the case in to power for at least 15 seconds to “wake them up” from their shipping slumber. Then open the lid and they immediately go into pairing mode. Search for and select them in your mobile device’s Bluetooth settings and that’s it. Keep them plugged in for up to an hour or until the light next to the case’s charging port turns green. That’s it. No need for firmware updates. No settings to change. Just pair and enjoy. Usage: With no app to install, there are also no settings to change and no firmware to update. Put the buds in your ears and they play a short tone signifying that they’re ready to play but you can still hear your surroundings. Tap controls are listed on the included Quick Start guide. Start some music and you’ll be impressed with the sound quality typical of Sennheiser headphones. If you’re looking for a fully immersive experience and ultimate noise blocking; these are not the buds for you. These buds excel at great sound quality while also letting in your surroundings. Other buds have a “transparency mode” that uses their microphones to essentially pick up the outside side and pass that sound back into the earbuds, but that needs to be turned on or off and it uses power when on. These buds do it by not blocking your ears which means that they work this way all the time; sound playing or not. You can hear what’s going on around you blended in with the music, or pause the music and just be able to hear what’s going on without taking the buds out. If you do take them out, though, the music will pause and then resume when you put them back in. The tap gestures are pretty simple to learn and work well. Again, there’s no app to configure them. Instead, they are listed on the printed quick start guide in the box and are relatively similar to most other buds. A single tap on either plays or pauses, double tap on the left to skip back or the right to skip ahead, etc. Each gesture plays a short tone when recognized so you know it got it. Wireless charging is not included but the USB-C charging connector is common and easy enough. A quick charge of 10 minutes should give you about an hour’s playback and full charge can be done in about an hour for about 6 hours of music. Multipoint means that you can pair to up to 8 devices and keep the last two connected at the same time. This is super handy if you pair your phone and either tablet or computer. Expect few frills but these nail what’s important. Overall, these buds are refreshingly simple and effective. They are compact to carry, last a while on a charge, sound great when playing music, and let you remain connected to what’s going on around you even without removing them or turning on a special pass-through mode. If you don’t need buds that isolate you from the world with noise cancellation, then these buds might just be for you.

The Sennheiser Accentum Open Wireless headphones are great for those needing to hear media and music while still having complete awareness of your surroundings. If you are looking for noise cancellations and blocking noises around you to create complete immersion into your media, then go ahead and look elsewhere. This set of headphones is not for you. For those who still want to be able to still carry on a conversation with the people around you (i.e. spouses and kids) and be able to hear your media, this is a good option. If you want to hear your Youtube video while still hearing the TV, this is for you. If you want to talk on the phone and still be able to carry a conversation with folks around, this is for you. If you are looking for audiophile quality sound, then you may want to look elsewhere. If I am around the house being a proper family member while still paying attention to my media, I will reach for this headset all day every day. The fact that I can still hear everything without having to rely on a microphone to port outside sound into my ears, means battery life will be amazing. In addition, having seasonal allergies, wandering around the house within ear cavity sealing creates pressure in between the ears which in turn creates discomfort, which in turn means I can only wear them for short periods of time. With the Sennheiser open format, I can hear my media at good enough quality while not building up that pressure. Sound quality is very surprising for being an open style. The way small earbuds recreate amazing bass and clarity is by creating an air-tight seal between the earbuds and your ear cavity. Since these earbuds only rest on your ear, you will not get that deep bass that a lot of people want to look for in earbuds. However, for my normal everyday usage of doing things around the house, walking around in public, eating lunch, I can hear my media just fine while hearing the things around me. This is perfect for listening to podcasts. For that the vocals of your videos are crystal clear and fine for my usage. There is just enough bass for my liking for what I listen to. The analogy I would provide is sitting up close to a pair of good computer speakers while still hearing everything around you. The only difference is that those computer speakers are REALLY close to you now since they are projecting the sound directly into your ear. Battery life seems to last forever. This is to be expected because the headset does not come with Active Noise Cancelling. Sennheiser claims 28 hours of usage and after using it for a week, my Android phone has never said my buds have less than 80% battery life remaining. So, if you need a pair of headsets for the long haul, this will work just fine. As mentioned earlier, they sit in your ear and not jammed into your ear canal. This however creates a problem that if the shape of the earbuds don’t fit YOUR ear gaps, you might not be able to get a secure fit. It takes a bit to get of faith to hope that your ear buds do not fall out of your ears. They surprising stay put once you get them in a comfortable position in your ear. Would I go running or play soccer with these on? Maybe not since they don’t come with any replacement silicon spaces to customize your fit. However, for doing normal everyday things like cooking, doing laundry, cleaning after the dog in the backyard, driving, these stays put just fine. What else does this not have? No wireless charging. Another thing these earbuds do not have is an app to help customize your EQ. There is a Sennheiser Smart Connect app but currently does not support these earbuds. So, if you are one that is absolutely picky about your EQ right now, you might have to wait. I believe that this connection will happen in the future because the Sennheiser Accentum is a great set for someone that prioritizes being aware of the surroundings that do not want to shove stuff into their ear canals. All in all, I will probably be wearing the Sennheiser Accentum Open earbuds a lot because I value being aware of my surroundings and hearing a good reproduction of sounds while not being subjected to the discomfort of pressure of sealing your ear cavities.

After opening the Accentum box and examining the case and earbuds, I initially thought they felt cheap and plasticky. However, I was completely wrong! The Bluetooth connection was easy, with no problems at all. Once I paired them, I was blown away by how good and clear they sound. I’ve had already forgotten how cheap they felt at first. These earbuds fit nicely in my ears. I was worried they might fall out due to their design, but they didn’t budge. I’ve been using them around the house, and they fit perfectly. I often have issues with earbuds slipping out or falling off when I’m out for a walk, especially when I sweat, but these stay securely in place. It’s worth noting that these are open earbuds, meaning they don’t have noise-canceling features. Personally, that’s not an issue for me, as I like to be aware of my surroundings while wearing earbuds. Another great feature is that there's no need to download any apps, you just pop them in, and they’re ready to go. I appreciate this since I tend to forget about apps and then end up not using them. The controls on the earbuds are straightforward and easy to remember. At a price point of $130, I believe these are worth it, they sound and feel great even after a long period of use. I highly recommend these earbuds, even though I had never heard of this company before. I'm glad I came across such amazing quality.

This is now my 18th set of BT wireless earbuds. The third from Sennheiser (I also have Momentum 3 & 4). Why so many; they keep improving. I thought Sennheiser Momentum 3 & 4 were both sensational. These Accentum Open earbuds feature BT 5.3 (not 5.4) with up to 28 hours play time. The open design means that they don't have any tips to plug your ears and they don't offer active noise cancellation. I also found that they also don't work with Sennheiser's Smart Connect App (something I'm accustomed to using). I guess this set of earbuds is too affordable to use their high end tools. Before I did any testing I broke the Sennheiser Accentum Open's overnight with Tara Labs Noise burnin, they lasted just over 5hrs (80% volume), not quite the 6hrs. Sennheiser claims the Accentum Open's have 28hrs of battery life (6+22h from the charging case). Since there is no app the earbuds firmware can't be updated and the "1 tap", "2 tap", "3 tap", "hold" functionality can't be changed. I listened to Accentum Open earbuds from both an iPhone 15 pro and an Android 14 phone w/Poweramp. I appreciated the poweramp equalizer, not having the EQ from the Smart Connect App. The open design means you can readily hear sounds from around you. If a kid/wife is hollering at you they will be able to get your attention. But you can not listen to a baseball game on a television and music at the same time and hear the television; I think this is called "Stay aware" on the momentums. The natural awareness of open design only goes so far. I did find the earbuds comfortable, but when exercising one earbud or the other would mistakenly detect a tap and pause. I also found some BT dead spots with these earbuds that I did not notice with either of the Momentums (probably 25' from my phone, behind a wall with 240V appliances running (laundry room). I did take a phone call, and on my end the sound was excellent, and the person I was talking to was impressed by the voice quality and lack of background noise. On my iPhone I listened to Boston's first album; 'More than a Feeling' was excellent great 'signature' Sennheiser high's little low bass (not surprising based on the open design), on 'Foreplay/Long Time' the fade out fade in separation was excellent, during the subtle build I could hear the subtle details. The mid-bass and bass was not what I'd call precise. In general the bass is just somewhat absent. And without an app with some sort of EQ, it was not going to get much better. I'm very accustomed to using the included software custom EQ. I then listened to Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. Overall the sound quality was nice and even, the earbuds sounded like Sennheisers, but overall a bit weak on the bass. I jumped over to my android phone, and with poweramp I could significantly improve the low end of these earbuds, not quite making them punchy, but adding a more well rounded mid-bass and improving the very low end (a better balance over all). I really liked the comfort of the open feel, they are quite light and comfortable. I then bounced around listening to some Beach Boys, Warren Zevon, Queen, Rush, Yes and Zeppelin. My android phone sounded better then my iPhone with these earbuds. I've rarely felt this way before. Anyway I liked the Accentum's overall sound. Just for fun I compared my Momentum 4's to Accentum's. Listening to Yes's roundabout the mids and highs were very equivalent. But the Momentum's details were much more rich as was their low end. I'd rate the Sennheiser Momentum 4s a 9.5 and the Accentum's a 7. Considering the huge price difference this speaks pretty well for the Accentum's. After listening for several hours, I found both very comfortable. The Accentum's do have the high quality sound I expect from Sennheiser, they hit the mark here. I'm going to deduct a star for them not having an app (I mean not being able to use Sennheiser's excellent Smart Connect App). These earbuds are comfortable, easy to wear, and have an overall good sound.

To start off, I've been using these for a solid 4-5 days walking and jogging around my block. I've had other sets of wireless buds, but most brands just can't really get the feature set or audio EQ correct. At the same time, these are very basic for what they are, but also ironically also do everything one would need without external software. Kind of an anomaly in this space. For example: There's no transparency mode, but they're designed to be "open" given the name.. So you can actually hear your surrounding without using microphones on an ANC style setup. SUBJECTIVE AUDIO: Actually REALLY good. I'm coming from 1st gen AirPod Pro's which are a little more expensive. These have a similar high end and mid range clarity, but with a heavier bass presence. Unfortunately the lows distort heavy past a certain dB range. AirPod's just inherently cut volume before that point. I can't compare these to the modern base AirPod (Likely a more of a fair comparison), but I'm sure it would be a toss up. For me, it's a 4/5 here. Good, but there is obviously room for improvement. I've used more expensive sets that subjectively sound worse. PROS: - Fits my ears pretty decently, not the tightest fit, but not loose either. Just decent. - Battery life is obviously excellent. I've charged these once upon arrival and I've been using them for at least an hour a day via morning and night walks. - Very sweat resistant. They out class my AirPod Pro's in regards to swear tolerance and how fast they dry. CONS: - No wireless charging. I know this is the budget variant, but that would have likely pushed my rating up higher. I use wireless charging quite a bit and find a legit gamechanger for people on the go. -Charging case is a little more flimsy than I expected. NEUTRAL: - No rubber ear tips. This isn't a bad thing and I find these specific buds better for outdoor workouts, but maybe not the best for getting the sound profile one would want due to size differences. It's a trade off. -Controls on the pods themselves are actually quite decent for not having software, but it's also difficult to swap songs when you're sweating in the hot sun. Makes double tapping the side kind of shift the pod out of my desired position. -No ANC or Transparency. If you're looking for that, you may have to step up to the "ACCENTUM True Wireless" variant. OVERALL: I legitimately think these outclass many expensive earbuds in regards to sound profile. The controls work good and seem to function with Apple Music without installing anything extra. This is basically the closest thing to an integrated Apple experience without buying AirPods from my perspective. They're not the most premium set as far as build goes, but it's not the worse either. Just something you would expect given its price point. They subjectively fit me well and it's very hard to be disappointed seeing that they more or less check my boxes.. Just lack wireless charging which I do miss coming from my 1st gen AirPod Pros. A more complete version of these buds would push my rating higher, but I'm going to settle on 4/5. Better than I expected.

Sennheiser Accentum Open (black): This new open-air design from Sennheiser immediately impresses with its very crisp sound, establishing immediately that it will reveal details in my music that I might have never heard before. And, in fact, whispers in the background of what I thought were familiar songs surprised me. There is no oppressive, overly boosted bass to muddy voices, and these earbuds are a great way to study the vocalizations of various singers or nuanced differences in instruments. There is no active noise cancelling. In fact, Sennheiser specifically advertises that these earbuds are open to the world around you, so you’ll remain connected to the conversations taking place. There is no app for contouring the sound. Sennheiser is proud of its acoustic tuning expertise, and they are confident you will agree with their choices. SETUP: Nothing to set up. Charge them with the included USB-C cable and any charging brick you might own. There is no app. Familiarize yourself with the button locations and instructions, but it doesn’t get any simpler than this. Observations: I am going to suggest you spend some time listening to these Accentum Open earbuds before you make up your mind about them. Ear placement is critical to achieving the full range balance of musical tones. While the need for proper placement is not a revelation by any means, the physical design of these earbuds did make achieving the best sound a bit tricky for both me and my wife. This design will be familiar to those of you who have used the early pod designs. There is no soft foam or gel eartip and, of course, no tip replacements or alternates. You are inserting a soft-to-the-touch, but hard, plastic shell into the outer ear (Concha) and allowing it to rest in place. Simply rotating the orientation of these remarkably lightweight pods to achieve a better fit made big differences in the bass tones. The Accentum could seem bass-less in some earbud orientations, and then with better ear canal contact sound lovely with all frequencies sounding nicely balanced with decent bass.
These Accentum are not likely to impress the bass lovers out there. 
I understand that Sennheiser describes these as “open” and with the outside world readily accessible, with no active noise reduction. Both my wife and I were completely oblivious to any attempts to communicate with us when wearing the Accentum. A TV playing in the background was impossible to hear clearly. Your experience will certainly vary. 

CONCLUSION: The right listener, with the ear anatomy to exploit the sound qualities designed into these Sennheiser Accentum earbuds, will fall in love with them. These are exceptionally detailed and well balanced if they fit your ears. I can get to that level of enjoyment, but it does take fussy adjustments to get the right ear placement. It will be easier for some of you, and others will never get there. You need to try them. I think it’s worth the effort.

Sennheiser, began in Hanover, Germany, in 1945. 80 years later, Sennheiser is a premiere manufacturer of audio equipment (professional and consumer), including some the best Bluetooth headphones and earbuds money can buy. I currently own Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3 and True Wireless 4, two of the best sounding, full featured Bluetooth earbuds out there. Their signature sound is warm and natural, just like the sound engineers heard in the studio. But my TW 3 and 4 are expensive earbuds and there are times when I don’t need to walk around with my best earbuds, yet I still want that characteristic Sennheiser natural and warm sound. So, I was anxious to get the new Accentum Open. These are True Wireless earbuds, which are less expensive than the Momentum line, offers fewer features, like a dedicated app or wireless charging for the case, yet are from Sennheiser. They’re perfect for the gym or outdoor activities. They are perhaps less perfect for noisy environments or places where you want total isolation from outside sounds. Unboxing – Setup – Controls - Specs: The Accemtum Open, come nicely packaged. You get the earbuds, the charging case, a USB A to USB C cable (I would have preferred a USB C to USB C cable), a quick user guide and the requisite safety and compliance documents. Getting started you simply charge them with the supplied USB cable, and the charging case displays the charging status. Yellow - Charging. Green – Charged. Flashing Red - Charging Error. The earbuds have a laundry list of tones to indicate certain statuses, such as Powered Off, Pairing Successful, No Connection, etc. I’m not sure I can remember what all the tones indicate, but you can download a more comprehensive user guide from Sennheiser directly to learn more. Pairing them is straightforward. When you take the earbuds out of the charging case for the first time, they are automatically in pairing mode. Open your smartphone’s settings app to Bluetooth. Insert the buds in your ears and simultaneously touch the right and left earbud touch panel in the stem for 3 seconds until you hear a repetitive melody. They’ll be seen by your smart phone, and you tap there to pair them. If a code is requested, type 0000. You’ll hear two tones once pairing is successful. The Accentum Open has multi-point connectivity, so you can pair them with up to 8 additional devices. To pair them with another device, touch the touch panel on each bud for 3 seconds to put them in pairing mode. The Accentum Open do not have ear tips. They go in your ears more like basic Pods and aren’t designed to go as deep in your ear canal as earbuds with ear tips. They also don’t have Active Noise Cancellation, so you will be more aware of your surroundings wearing these. But they are VERY comfortable and it’s easy to forget they’re in your ears. Keep this in mind though if you’re looking for earbuds which isolate you from your surroundings as these may not be for you. The stems house where you touch to do things like pause the music with a single tap, increase the volume using the right earbud, lowering it with the left earbud, answer, terminate or reject a call, playing the next track or going back to a previous track. It’s intuitive and not unlike most other Bluetooth earbuds. The earbuds offer up to 6.5 hours of play on a single charge, with a total of 28 hours play time through the case. A charge of 10 minutes will give you 1.5 hours of play time. Frequency response is 25 Hz to 15 kHz. That’s not industry leading, but honestly people can’t hear above 15 kHz anyway. In my listening tests, they sound terrific. In terms of Codec, they support the two biggies – AAC on the Apple side and SBC on the Android side. Again, not industry leading, but certainly good enough for earbuds at this price point. In terms of water resistance, they are IPX4, which is splash resistant. And they employ Bluetooth 5.3, so latency isn’t an issue with a range of 10 meters. Sound and Call Quality: Necessary product information is important, but the most important aspect of earbuds is how they sound for music and phone calls. Each earbud has two beam-forming microphones. In terms of call quality, I found them to be very good in a quiet environment. Since they are open, without ANC, speaking on the phone in a noisy environment may be a bit challenging. But the SOUND! The sound is truly Sennheiser all the way. Keep in mind these are mid-range earbuds at an attractive price point. They feature an 11mm transducer (speaker), which is larger and capable of moving more air. Bass is deep and confident. Midrange, where most of the music is like vocals and most instruments is up front and warm. And the highs are crisp, without being sibilant (harsh). When I get new earbuds, I listen to the same music to compare them to other earbuds I own. The range is from Classical, like Camille Saint Sans Organ Symphony to test the bass And Mason Bates Works for Orchestra (Xinjiang Provence is AWESOME!). Libera Boys choir to test not only the human voice, but any harshness and more contemporary music (Rock and Jazz). My thoughts are these are very good sounding earbuds. They aren’t at the level of my more expensive Momentum TW’s. But then they cost about 1/3 the price of Sennheiser premium buds. So I mark these as a great value in being able to enjoy the natural and warm sound of Sennheiser at a more budget friendly price. Good Job Sennheiser. Good Job Indeed!

Despite a few glaring shortcomings, the Accentum Open earbuds have become one of my favorites. The first impression upon unboxing was not great. The charging case feels cheap, and to my hands it’s oddly shaped. While the case looks like it would be easily opened in one hand, it’s not tall enough to be held easily while flipping the top open. To make matters worse, the hinge is placed nearly at the same height as the point where you push the top to open, so you have almost zero leverage. To make matters even worse, once you do get it open, the top is loose and floppy and immediately wants to close on you. Basically, think of this case like a squat two-hander. Don’t bother trying to open this case with one hand. It’s just an exercise in futility. Then there are things I thought were negatives but are actually good design choices, such as the charging indicator placement. It's on the bottom of the case next to the USB port, not the front like literally ever other earbuds I've owned. Initially I thought it was a bad idea, but once I started charging, I realized how brilliant that design is. When the indicator is on the front and the charging port either on the bottom or the back, to check the charge status, I usually end up having to pick up the case and turn it around just because of the way the case ends up positioned while being plugged in. With the Accentum case, having the LED next to the charge port on the bottom means that it almost always ends up in a position where the charge port is easily seen just based on the ergonomics of plugging in the USB plug and setting the earbuds down on the table. It’s a subtle design choice and not really a huge deal, but for a repeated action like charging, it’s one of those things that you end up appreciating more over time. Now for the fit. These earbuds remind me of the old-school plastic Sony wired earbuds, or even the old-school iPod wired earbuds from before the era of ubiquitous silicone ear tips. The Accentum sit in your ear as opposed to being inserted into the ear canal. Of course, this is in keeping with the open design, but it just felt familiar, and I realized how much more comfortable this design is for long-duration listening as opposed to having silicone tips which basically act as earplugs. These can sit in my ears literally all day without issue. As the fit is therefore loose, I expected to have issues with the earbuds falling out of my ears when I leaned over or turned my head, but that didn't happen. They are even quite stable while lying down. I can't side-sleep with them, because they do protrude a bit and will cause hotspots, but I had no issues with lying on my back and having them fall out of my ears. Lastly, I found the sound to be very acceptable. These are open earbuds, so they have to be judged against other open earbuds or even bone-conducting headphones, and on that scale, they're fine. They have a bias towards the mids and highs, and just barely enough low end (less than other open earbuds I own), but anyone looking at open earbuds understands there will be compromises. I find these earbuds ideal for watching YouTube videos, spoken word content, and less ideal for music, although they’re not horrible for that. Given the ease of wear and the acceptable sound, it’s turning out that these earbuds are the ones I have in my ears the most and the longest. They can stay firmly in my ears for hours at a time without getting gross or without causing pain. I will switch to others for noise-cancelling when needed or big, over-the-ear headphones for critical audio work, but the Accentum Opens have become my go-to earbuds for general listening.

Sennheiser is definitely a brand that is synonymous with quality audio products. The Accentum Open are not my first of their products, but I have to say, I don’t feel they represent the quality that they are known for at least not when listening to music. I struggled at first to like these earbuds as I predominantly use earbuds to listen to music, YouTube, and podcasts. And it is the later two where these buds are the best. The bass is really low, so makes hearing the spoken word really easy. In music and some movies, you won’t get that immersive feeling, but you definitely won’t have to stop and replay to catch what was said or turn on Closed Captioning. Device setup was very easy, NO APP necessary to setup, but that also means no way to change any of the tap commands. Connection was easy, but according to the quick guide (see photo) you have to open the case, plug in to charge for 15 seconds, then go to Bluetooth settings on your smart device, press each bud for 3 seconds to connect. The lid is extremely easy to close, so I must have closed nearly 3 times in the 15 seconds when I had them open and trying to plug-in to my laptop USB port. Honestly, not sure how necessary these steps are as I didn’t even take the buds out of the case and my phone recognized the buds and paired. I did try the companion app too, but it does not recognize the buds and there is even a spot in the Help section for these buds that states the app is not needed. The buds themselves are very light which is nice, but the “ear” part of the bud is the same molded plastic as the posts which translates to being slippery in the ear. If you want a set of buds to just have sitting next to the couch or bed and you won’t be moving around much, these would be fine for that. However, if you plan to be walking or moving around then I am not too confident that these would stay in. Workouts and bending over are definitely out. Of course, everyone’s ears are shaped differently, so your usage may be different than mine. Typically I need a silicone cover to keep a bud in my ear. The touch controls are very responsive and that I will say is a huge plus. When taking out the buds though, most these days have a near-field auto stop as it recognizes the buds are no longer close together. These apparently do not as when I was trying to take the right bud out, I was holding on the touch point and it was changing the volume and starting/stopping the playback. I was expecting a different kind of Sennheiser quality that delivers more immersive sound, but I got something different that makes hearing the spoken word easier. Speaking to the lack of of a companion app again and the buds being named Accentum OPEN, Sennheiser has removed the need for pass-through hearing as the buds are designed natively to allow that. With the low amount of bass this is also achieved. I can definitely recommend these buds for the niche person who is wanting something more than just music listening and prefers the spoken word. The two biggest knocks against the product are the ear fitment and music quality.

I’ve been running the Sennheiser ACCENTUM Open earbuds through their paces for about a week now—music, Netflix, Zoom calls, a few sweaty workouts—and I’ve got thoughts. Plenty of them. These little guys bring some real wins to the table, but a few quirks make them more of a niche recommendation than a no-brainer. Let’s start with the build. These things are feather-light. I mean, pop them in and you’ll forget they’re even there. But then there’s the case. Also light—but not in a good way. It feels kinda hollow, like a demo unit you'd see glued to a store display. As for the sound here’s the thing: these are open-ear buds. No seal, no noise isolation, no booming bass. You’re not buying these to feel like you're inside a concert hall, and I’m okay with that. But—and here’s a bit of a bummer—there’s no app support. They play it of as a feature - simplicity, the there are no SmartControl tweaks. What you hear is what you get. Biggest surprise? Multipoint Bluetooth pairing actually works—and works well. I was halfway through an episode of The Bear when my phone rang. The audio switched over automatically when I answered. That kind of seamless transition is usually reserved for earbuds that live deep inside one tech ecosystem. Here’s where things get a little personal—literally. The fit was... lopsided. My right ear? Perfect. Left ear? A little loose, like it was just one good head turn away from flying out. Not enough to be a problem walking around the house, but I wouldn’t wear them on a jog or while mowing the lawn. And I get it—everyone’s ears are shaped differently. What felt “meh” to me might be perfect for you. But still, it’s something to think about if you’re expecting that locked-in, forget-it’s-there kind of security. Should you grab a pair? If you’re the kind of person who switches devices a lot, listens while working (but still wants to hear the world), or just hates the plugged-ear feeling of traditional buds—these are a good pick. But if you’re deep into a particular ecosystem, or you live and die by active noise cancellation and bass you can feel in your chest? These probably won’t appeal to you.

Sennheiser’s new Earbuds called Accentum, in my opinion are decent mid tier earbuds. They sound just fine, but don’t excel in any one thing. The quality of the earbuds themselves and the Charging Case are good, but not great. It lacks some features like noise canceling, EQ settings. This was done on purpose, they are supposed to be simple, just pair, stick them in your ear and start playing music. Some people might appreciate that. There is no app mentioned anywhere so I decided to go to the Apple store to see if an app does exist. There is a Sennheiser app, but I wasn’t able to connect my earbuds to it, either they are not supported or will be supported in the near future. The reason I wanted to try the app is because I like to mess with the sound settings and see what other Features there are but as of now it looks like what you see in the boxes what you get. These earbuds sound fine, especially for the price point, they don’t get overly loud and the bass is somewhat lacking but other than that, they sound crystal clear, no distortion. When listening to music, if you tap the right ear, once you will pause the song, if you tap twice, you can skip to the next song, if you hold it down for a few seconds, the volume will go up. If you hold the left side, the volume will go down. This is boy new technology, almost all higher end earbuds have this already but it’s nice to know it’s there and that it works well. Like I mentioned in my review, these earbuds don’t excel in any one thing, but overall, they sound good, good quality, look good, and have a good price to match.

I use a lot of different ear buds from a wide range of brands.  In my experience, the best sounding ones are the ones that fit perfectly inside your ear.  Anything else causes them to be either uncomfortable or have really bad sound.   These Sennheiser Accentum Open ear buds are not meant to be sitting deep in your ears and so they don't include any rubberized tips to help with the fit and the sound quality.  In my opinion this just means that if you're looking for great sound quality with deep bass response, you surly won't get it with these.  That's what I thought before I even tried them out, and that is exactly what I thought after using them.   I do like some things about them, but the sound is definitely not one of them.  The overall sound is about as thin as I could imagine.  Couple that with the complete lack of any bass response and what you have is a set of toy ear buds.  I get the fact that they sit in the outer part of your ear.  Not everyone wants to cram ear buds in their ears and most are by nature, uncomfortable.  I get the fact that they're comfortable.  Probably the main complaint of most ear bud users is that they are NOT comfortable.  And lets face it, everybody's ears are different, and to make them comfy for everyone is almost impossible.  I get the fact that you can still hear what's going on around you.  Some people like to use them out in public, whether their on a train, walking down the sidewalk or shopping for groceries.  But these let in so much outer sound that it's impossible to not be distracted by it altogether.    The case is another disappointment for me.  It's really annoying to have to deal with a case that doesn't stand up on it's own.  And with a rounded bottom like this one has, it requires two handed operation, no buts about it.  The buds sit in the case so deep that they're difficult to get a grip on to pull them out (other ear bud brands suffer from this as well).  I can't really find anything good to say about the case other than it holds and charges the buds.  Which, by the way it won't do wirelessly, so you'll need to make sure you always have a charging cable and charger with you.  The cable, they give you, the charger, no.   I will say that when you finally do get them out of the case and wear them, they are comfortable, which is something I've never been able to say about a pair of Sennheiser ear buds before.  I like the controls on each side, they're intuitive and they respond well.  The handle portion of each one is easy to grab and remove (or put in), and they look pretty cool.  You can turn the volume up or down, play a previous or next track, pause and play, and answer a phone call.   But for me, I value sound quality more.  So everything I've stated already is true, but is it a bad thing?  That depends on how you use your ear buds.  If you like outside sounds getting in because you're in a public setting, this may actually be a good thing to you.  I can only offer my point of view from how I use ear buds.  I use mine, for the most part, when I work out, running, lifting or just walking.  I occasionally use them to help drown out external sounds and escape to my favorite music.  So from my point of view, I don't like them, they don't work for me because of the thin sound.  Turning them up all the way not only didn't help, but I just could not get them to go loud enough.  They remind me of some smart sunglasses I have with built in speakers.  They play music too, but they don't sound good.

Aside from pairing with your phone or tablet, there is nothing else to do. No apps, no customizations, nothing. Pair and go. Sennheiser claims the Accentums remember up to 8 devices they have been paired to. I have paired them with 4 different devices (a mix of iOS and Android) and so far, they have switched seamlessly between my mobile products. One thing that is frustrating is that when you put the Accentums in, they try and pair to the last device used, even if it is not the one you want to pair them with. I often am forced to unpair from my phone to get them to pair up with my tablet. With there being no app, there is no way to customize the sound. No equalizers, no tuning. Only what is included with your choice of playback device. Partly because of this, I find the Accentums have very limited bass response. They are unable to effectively reproduce those low frequencies in any convincing manner. However, I cannot complain about the clarity of the mids and highs. Middle and upper frequencies are exceptionally clear and detailed, better than many of the competitors’ products. I found myself noticing different instruments in songs that I didn’t realize were a part of the band. Slick. NEGATIVES Like I stated above, the Accentums have very limited bass response. Honestly, the Accentums are the weakest at bass reproduction of any of my listening devices. More anemic than any other ear bud I’ve owned to date. Lastly, the Accentums don’t have any form of Active Noise Cancellation. This makes for an often-noisy listening environment. Wind noise is very frustrating with the Accentums. FINAL THOUGHTS The Sennheiser Accentum Opens have great mid and high frequency audio reproduction. Clear and detailed mid and high frequencies are where the Accentums shine. But, as clear and detailed as those frequencies are, the low-end response is poor, making for a lackluster listening experience. I compared the Accentums back-to-back with my kid’s earbuds produced by the famous fruit. If I had an iOS device, I would not look twice at the Accentums. The fruit-based product has a lot more features and though they are a few bucks more, they offer superior performance. While the Accentums are extremely comfortable and have decent battery life, the lack of ANC and low frequency response would steer me away. NOT RECOMMENDED

I have tried several different brands of ear buds, but these take the cake. The earbuds looked a little big, but were surprisingly comfortable and the sound quality on both the sending and receiving ends is great. The earbuds hold a charge for the whole work day instead of losing charge half way through the day. My absolute, hands-down, favorite feature is the seamless switch from listening to music/audio casts to answering calls, and when you take the earbuds out while listening to video, the video pauses until you put them back in! These earbuds are a must-have for the office. All this, on top of quality sound and comfort is outstanding. Thanks for the great earbuds!! Cynthia

I have had Sennheiser earbuds previously and truly appreciate the brand’s finely engineered sound quality. This one is consistent with my expectation in this respect. I love subtle cream color and it is extremely user friendly to configure. However, the ergonomics do not quite work as they are not entirely tightly fit, resulting in the occasional falloffs. It is not a huge issue because I would not use it outside of my living space because I had quite a pairs either “accidentally” damaged or stolen.

Best sounding earbuds, battery life is great, call quality is great, no apps, no extra stuff, they connect fast and just work.
