Sergei Dukachev - Russian Piano Music 6: Rachmaninoff - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Steingruber / Schurhoff / Majkut - Missa Solemnis [COMPACT DISCS] date 01/01/2006

Zuzana Leharová impressively combines her cultural background with her unlimited love for jazz in her music. As a matter of course, folkloristic melodies merge with jazz solos to free improvisations. Zuzana Leharová writes InchThe music on this album is inspired by the scenes of the life-hungry person in me, the fusion of my longings, the leftover memories of my origins, dreams and wondrous encounters in life and the rebellion against self-made lack of freedom. The unreal and the real naturally blur into one another.Inch She is joined on this by an all-star lineup including Constantin Krahmer, Joscha Detz, Nils Tegen, and Bastian Stein.

This album is taken from live performances in England between 2000 and 2005 by Russian pianist Sergei Dukachev and includes the Second and Seventh Sonatas, Visions Fugitives, and extracts from the composer's piano transcription of 'Romeo and Juliet'. Dukachev is gaining an enthusiastic following in the UK as well as in his native Russia, and the brilliance of these concert performances demonstrates why.
