Give it time to get used to it, it is really nice!
When we first got this, it seemed to small for the box it was in. Once I let it out of the box, I realized it was folded in half, then also needed to inflate. But since it was folded in half, it seemed too small. It is not. That said, it takes the full 48 hours to inflate. And one of the corners took a bit longer. But none-the-less, it is up and running and we have had time to adjust to it. My wife is a super firm bed person, and I'm not. So this was an interesting choice. It is not firm. But it is not plush either. To this end, my wife purchased a gel foam "firm" topper to use with it as she thought it might be a way to firm things up. But it wasn't. In fact it wasn't firm at all, it sank quickly down to the mattress top where laid upon. That to me is plush and firm is a mattress that doesn't sink down like that. Keeping this in mind, the mattress may say PLUSH, but it is firm enough to be comfortable and not too firm that there is no give. Frankly I'm a very big guy, and I found it very comfortable. When I hit the edge of the bed, I can see it is using the springs to keep it from failing. And when I'm laying in bed, I cannot feel the springs. I feel very comfortable in this mattress. Before you discount this as a plush, I'd say it would be perfect for those who like semi-firm, or a mattress with some give to it. Frankly I found the extra firm one we had was so firm there was no give at all. Hips would hurt and so would shoulder, because it would not give at all. The box weighed about 50lbs, and it was easy enough to drag up the stairs. Unboxing it was easy and then letting it unfold and inflate was quick. But the trick is to find a place it can be left alone for a full 48 hours to inflate completely. Plus there is a small but not offensive odor that emanates from it for that same period of time. After that, no smell at all. Honestly, I'm so glad to have had a chance to give this a try - I never would have tried it since it says PLUSH and my wife would have been like "No way"....but has since settled into it and likes it. It really feels decent and as though it will be around for awhile.

No hassle, comfortable, cool mattress
This mattress replaced a 5-year-old traditional spring mattress that was purchased with my daughter’s bed. After using this new Simmons hybrid mattress for a few weeks, I feel bad that I did not do more research the first time. She always complained that she could feel the springs in her old mattress. We had tried foam toppers to make her old mattress more comfortable, but they made her hot and moved around. She spends a lot of time in her bed playing games and doing school work (I know - what about sleeping - she is a teenager!) so a comfortable mattress is very important to her and she loves the soft feel for sleeping with springs for support when she is sitting up. Pros - Avoiding the traditional furniture store hassle. - Really fun to unbox and watch expand (wish I had it on video) - Good quality materials and stitching. - Hybrid - plush top over springs is a great combination for people who like a soft comfortable mattress, while still giving you support. - Cooling top works great and addresses one of my previous issues with memory foam tops. - Wrapped springs are very quiet and not bouncy (no creak) Things to Consider - The box is easier to handle than a regular mattress, but it is still heavy - so you will likely need some help (especially if you have a full size or bigger). - The mattress had a slight plastic smell when it was opened, but this went away quickly, and I like that it is independently certified for air quality.
