Cleans really well. I haven’t had to clean the dust bin in over a month so far however I have had to refill the water a few times. Overall cleans well. I love the map and the options to clean specific rooms instead of the entire area.

I absolutely love Roger!! That's his name, doesn't every one name their robot? Lol. I love that he does everything himself, you basically set it and forget it. If he gets stuck he sends you a notification. I got him on sale and it was truly worth it!

Very efficient, very smart, incredibly useful. We have white porcelain floors, so we see every little spot, and this Shark gets them all. Would recommend.

Verdict: This Shark Robot Vacuum and Mop works quite well, with mostly “never touch” convenience. It maps, navigates, vacuums, and mops effectively and on schedule. The large water reservoir and dustbin mean that you don’t have to tend to it often, but… it does not wash the mop pad in this version of the bot; I would recommend spending just a bit more money to get the pro version (washes the mop pad after each use). We are very happy with this robot; the finished basement has never looked so clean and smelled so nice, every time we walk down! Physical setup. The box was smaller than expected for an auto-empty vacuum. Unpacking was quick… less than 5 minutes. Setup was even quicker: pick a spot for the base station, remove the stickers, connect the mopping base, roll the robot into the base station, fill up the water tank for mopping and use the QR code to setup on your smartphone. Getting started. Setup was not very smooth for me unfortunately. I was able to add the robot to my Shark app and map the area. So far so good. I then tasked the robot to vacuum and mop, but it only rolled out and sat there until all the lights were red. Using the troubleshooting steps, I held the home button for a few seconds to reset the robot and tried again… same thing… three times! So at that point I quit for the day and decided to try again the next day… Same thing the next day on first try. Finally, I tried to just task the robot to vacuum, it dropped the mopping pad and went to work. That worked really well. After the full vacuum, I again tried to task the vacuum to vacuum and mop, and it finally worked! It now vacuums and mops three times a week, without a problem. I am really not sure why I was unsuccessful in all my initial attempts to vacuum and mop. PRO TIP: if you are not able to vacuum and mop after initial setup, try to task the robot to just vacuum. I think that this forces the robot to release the mop pad and then reattach it later, probably the right way, in case you don’t install it properly the first time. The App. The Shark app is fairly helpful. You can use it to edit your map, schedule cleaning, check on cleaning history, spot clean (this is really nice), access support features, and shop for supplies. You can see the robot move in real-time on the app, which is helpful for spot cleaning. Unfortunately, the app doesn’t show completed trajectory lines. Robot Performance. It performs well and I don’t have to worry about it. I think that this says everything about it. I plan to check the dustbin and water level once a month, and I hope that the robot lets me know when it has an issue or when maintenance is required. Navigation. The robot navigates quite well. It doesn’t bump into furniture or walls, and cleans carefully around small objects, such as the narrow leg of a coffee table. It always gets back to the base station. Coverage across the space seems good. And to my surprise, it can clean in the dark! I suppose the technology used doesn’t require light. Things I love: - Nice all-in-one package that vacuums and mops well - App is decent, but could do more - Navigation is excellent, even in the dark (I think… I wasn’t there to see it, but the app says the cleaning was done and the floors look good) - The base station removes the debris from the robot, awesome! - Good battery life… I can vacuum and mop the whole space in one charge - Fairly compact package… it fits under my coffee table (see picture) - It makes voice announcements (helpful if you are around to hear it) - Quiet operation, it’s not a nuisance - The base station dries the mop pads after each use - It can raise itself to get over obstacles!! Never seen that before Things I don’t love: - Ordering supplies is not very convenient. I have to put the model number of my device… why? The app knows what Shark device I have! For me to order from the app, it has to be more convenient than using a large online platform - I wish the app showed completed travel trajectory lines so I could see where the robot has been, and assess the efficiency of cleaning routes and overall cleaning effectiveness - I think that a robot that mops should always auto-clean the pads. Maybe the base model vs pro model should differentiate in another way than the auto-wash feature, for example, the pro could have an attached stick vacuum. In the end, I think that people who buy “never touch” robot vacuums don’t want to have to remember to remove the pad to wash it. I recommend only selling robots that self-clean the pads to avoid suboptimal mopping after a few months - I would like to be able to choose what notifications I receive. Frankly, I don’t need to know that the robot started cleaning. On the other hand, I am interested to know that cleaning was completed, if there was an issue with the session, if the water needs to be refilled, or if maintenance is required. Everyone will care about different information, so best to make this customizable - Not the smoothest setup experience for me, but it works perfectly now, so it’s ok - The edge brush could have one or two more spokes… not sure why it has only a single spoke. Adding one more spoke to the rotating brush would increase brush coverage without any tradeoffs. Overall, the Shark Robot Vacuum and Mop NeverTouch offers a nice package that mostly delivers on the convenience it advertises. While I recommend spending just a bit more money to get the Pro version so that you get auto-wash of the mop pads, this unit will vacuum and mop your space well and satisfy the vast majority of buyers. It’s not cheap by any means, but time saved and the convenience factor means that the value is there. I give it 5 stars (can’t take points away because I didn’t get the “pro” version, that’s my fault). I recommend this robot.

The Shark - PowerDetect NeverTouch, Self-Empty & Self-Refill, Robot Vacuum and Mop with Bagless, 60-Day Debris Capacity & Pad Dry - Gaia Grey is the newest addition to my robot vac family. This is my second Shark robot mop-vac, and in total, it’s my fourth robot mop-vac to own. This model is an upgrade from my last shark robot. This unit has every feature I could ask for. The feature that I am very excited about is the bagless self-empty bin. This is a huge upgrade because all my other self-empty mop-vacs have a bag that needs to be purchased and replaced once it gets full. When purchasing a high end vac, you don't want to keep buying knick-knacks. Other great features to mention are that the vac has the ability to avoid objects in its path. It can drive over carpet when it is mopping and it lifts the mopping pad up and off the carpet by tilting the whole robot back. It has a very large water tank, easy to fill (not just a small hole to get the water into), the vac refills as needed and it comes with a bottle of cleaner if you desire to add extra cleaning solution. There is a deodorizer on the self-empty bin, so when it expels the dirt and debris, there will be a pleasant smell instead of a stale one or pet odor coming out of the unit. The mopping pad can stay on for 30 days. I personally don’t like the idea, but depending on how much it’s used, I guess it is possible. The charging unit even turns on a blow-dryer to dry the mopping pad after mopping! I took a picture of my mopping pad after using it 4 times over a few days. It looks ready to wash, so I am going to change it out. It could probably go longer, but it’s up to the user. Another upgrade, the app will now show an update of the robot’s location every 10 seconds. It still doesn’t show a trail of where it already vacuumed, but at least now it does show you where it currently is. At the end of the job, you can look at the history and see where it cleaned. Vacuuming is coded purple and mop-vac is light blue. The set up was simple enough and the QR codes help walk you through the process. The QR code on the box will show the maintenance steps, and they are important to review since they show all the hidden filter locations. That being said, the mapping process took a very long time. It took a little over 5 hours to complete. I started the mapping at 8:30 PM. This was a mistake because I had to stay up past 1:30 AM so it could finish. The last shark robot I had took about 45 minutes or less. I was expecting the same thing, but I was wrong. The next frustrating thing I had happen was the carpet mapping wasn’t 100% accurate. Now there is a section in my bathroom that won’t get mopped because it inaccurately shows carpet extending out of the boundary from my closet. There is no way to correct it or delete it unless I remap. 5 hours? I don’t think so. My old Shark allowed me to delete the carpet if I didn’t like the location. I also have workout mats on hardwood that I am not able to delete. They are not always there, and I like to pick them up when I send it to mop that room. Now, I may as well just leave it because it’s on the permanent map. The other mapping issue is the room dividing and merging option. It still has not improved since the first model I had. Not all areas in the home have 90 degree edges. I have some columns that are placed at an angle and I can’t divide the rooms properly. I got as close as I could, but it’s not accurate like the other 2 brands that I own. The self-empty feature is nice, but there have been times where the vac picks up a lot of hair and when it empties, the dirt gets stuck hanging halfway out the robot. My daughter told me, "the robot has dirt and hair hanging out of it" while it was cleaning (see picture). This is common for robot vacs that are self-empty since the exit hole is narrow. So I recommend not to ignore the robot for 30 days, I’d check it periodically to make sure nothing is clogged. Another thing to do carefully is pulling the robot off the base. I pulled at the wrong angle and the mopping plate fell off. I reattached it, but then the robot didn’t sit right on the base. I retraced my steps and put the plate back on the base first, then I worked to snap the robot back onto it from there. For a minute there I thought I had broken it. Overall this model is a solid upgrade in its many features and they make the vac a great pick.

Overall this Shark robotic vacuum and mop does a wonderful job. I downloaded the app, added the liquid cleaner to the base station, charged the robot and then had the Shark map out the rooms. Once that was done I used the app to start the cleaning process and it began mopping the hardwood floor and vacuuming the carpeted areas. What is extremely nice is that we don’t have to do anything to the robot, it contains everything it needs to mop and to vacuum and its intelligent enough to know what to do where. Pros: - Intuitive app that creates accurate and informative maps - Self contained base station and robot – both have a dust bin and mopping fluids - Good object avoidance and consistent coverage of an area - Can vacuum and mop on the same cleaning run without having to change out components - Mops without leaving puddles - Bagless dustbin - Long battery life, this last way longer than our previous mopping unit - Able to climb - raise up onto thick carpeting - Never gets lost and docks completely every time - Has Vocal notifications Cons: - You cannot schedule to clean only specific rooms or more than once a day Setup and Use: After unpacking the base unit I placed it in our Nook and filled the fluid station with the included Shark floor cleaner and water. I placed the robot onto the base station ramp and let it fully charge. While it was charging I downloaded the Shark app and added the new robot both in the app and onto my wireless network. This process was very straightforward and easy to do. Next the app has you map the rooms by sending out the robot to explore the floor plan. In the app you will see the map and have the ability to name the rooms and mark barriers. This is very helpful for me because I have it vacuum the entire area on specific runs and then mop only certain rooms afterwards. Also the app actually shows you where the robot is in the map so when I am sitting at my desk working I can see where the robot is and watch as it completes the cleaning cycle. The robot has sensors that know when it comes across a lot of dirt and it will make several sweeps in an attempt to get all the dust. In the mopping mode it uses an attached mopping pad to wipe the floor and it leaves a very consistent thin layer of cleaning fluid behind it that evaporates fairly quickly – no puddles or large quantities of fluid left anywhere. Because both the vacuum dust bin and mopping pad are contained in the robot it can switch between vacuuming and mopping as the surface changes. In our previous mopping robot we had to physically switch out the dust bin for the mopping attachment which was a real pain. This robot has a strong battery and goes a long time before needing to be recharged. The robot always finds it’s way back to the base station, never getting lost or entangled and it docks solidly guaranteeing that the dust bin gets emptied and the battery is recharged. App: The Shark Clean app is very easy to set up and use. The maps are very informative – it shows where the rugs are as well as the barriers. It allows you to set up schedules, pick specific areas to clean/not clean and has a history of what was done previously. One of the coolest features is that it shows the robot moving within the map so you can see how things are progressing.

This is probably the best robot vacuum I have experienced yet. It has the makings of what I call a real robot that I do not need to attend to it; instead, it attends to us. Just for context, this is my 4th robot vacuum, so I have had a lot of time with these machines. Out of all that I had, this is the one that checks all the boxes of what I need in a home cleaning assistant. Form factor and Setup Set up is very easy. The components are pretty much snap and go. What I have always loved about Shark Robot vacuums are the ease of access to all components that it future proofs itself in terms of replacing those items you need to: the brush, the odor cartridge, the rolling picker-upper, even the battery. And what's good about this specific one is the integrated mop in the robot itself that I do not have to replace, unlike others that you have to switch the carriage for mop or sweep. Each segment of the mop is made of durable good quality material and fit—every hinge, cover, spring, wheel attachment, bumper guard has crisp fit and movements that I know are not going to break easily. The base is a compact enough to fit into one small section of the kitchen and the audio feedback is loud and clear to understand, and it manages my expectations on its next move. App and connectivity I've had experience with the Shark App in the past and it is very intuitive and easy to understand. Connecting the robot to Wifi is easy. I usually have issues connecting any of my smart home devices because of the 2.4ghz switching, and I am not sure as well what signal this device uses but I pretty much connected the robot in one go. Again, other set up components are easy, from naming this machine (we called it Baby Shark because that ‘s all our toddler knows), to the area mapping and set up. By the way, the robot radar is very precise as it really mapped out our challenging main floors, plus, I was amazed at how it gets itself in and out, under very narrow pantry carts. Segmenting rooms (areas) and scheduling what each needs done is a breeze. Use and cleaning Actual cleaning results are impressive and the noise levels are very tolerable. I've had experience with other vacuums that leave a powdery residue; this one feels the floor good to the touch. Let me emphasize that the best feature of this robot vacuum for me is the ease of mopping and vacuuming without having to switch any components. It loads itself up with water if needed and you can tell it to mop or vacuum each area as you wish, of course, this is given that its reservoir on the base station is well maintained with fluid levels. After a couple of days with me, I haven't had to refill the base station. It charges itself pretty well when it needs to, but it seems to me, there is not much to worry about battery use as each thorough cleaning of one 12ft x 12ft area, including running through all obstacles and object corner-hugging uses roughly only 10% of the battery. After set up and this honeymoon period, I am sure I will forget this vacuum, only because I hardly need to maintain it. Until the time that I will probably have to check the bins or filters, all I can say is I am happy with this robot. I definitely recommend this one!

I have used the Shark - Robot Vacuum & Mop PowerDetect NeverTouch, Combo, Self-Emptying & Self-Refilling, 60-Day Debris Capacity with Pad Dry - Gaia Grey for about a week now. It is in my top three robot vacuums and the top with both the mop and vacuum feature. Packaging is well thought out and will protect if you decide to have this item shipped. After unboxing and setting up for use the eclosed quick start card is appreciated. I had this unboxed, Wi-Fi, connected and mapping my house in under 10 minutes. The app works flawlessly and is easy to use and manipulate the map both by selecting rooms and no go areas. This is by far one of the best I have utilized in terms of avoiding obstacles and not banging into table/chair legs. Scheduling cleaning type and time is easily accomplished through the app. I was however, not able to schedule multiple cleanings or types in a single day. This would be helpful on days I know certain rooms are going to have heavy traffic. Cleaning runs have been successful and I have purposely put obstacles in the way to challenge the robot. I was only successful in getting it stuck once and to be fair it was a literal maze of items, one of which it moved slightly and blocked its return path. Overall excellent in navigation and obstacle avoidance. Cleaning is great and I have used the spot and room clean feature. You can also utilize Google to run the vacuum, which may get me around the multiple scheduling short coming until the app is possibly updated. The mopping feature is as good as it gets. Minimal water is left behind and it evaporates relatively quickly. The best feature is the unit will lift the mop pad when it runs over a carpeted area so it isn't dragging the damp mop pad, genius... After the mopping run is complete the unit dries the mop pad, also genius. The pad is easily changed out and is machine washable. When a mopping clean begins it announces it is filling up the water bin and once it reaches the area to clean it announces it is readying the mop pad, then it is off to the races. In vacuum only mode the unit will drop the pad and run through whatever cleaning schedule you have chosen. This is reasonable good and picking up crumbs and debris out of crevices and corners as well as general debris out in the open. Again, this is the best unit I have had in terms of not running into furniture, it will bump, but not like some units that have left marks on table and chair legs. Once done it automatically empties the onboard dust bin. This unit is very self sufficient and doesn't require much if any intervention other than checking the water level and dust bin. This is a great robot vacuum and I would definitely recommend the Shark - Robot Vacuum & Mop PowerDetect NeverTouch, Combo, Self-Emptying & Self-Refilling, 60-Day Debris Capacity with Pad Dry

I’ve been using robot vacuums for almost a decade now and I’ve been fairly impressed with the technological leap every time my robot vacuum got updated. The Shark Robot Vacuum and Mop is an impressive unit, not only does it work so well in cleaning the house, it is simple to use. The robot comes with everything you need to start the regular cleaning job. Setting up the unit is easy and simple enough. There’s no need to read pages of instruction, Shark gives you a simple one page instruction that takes merely minutes to setup the robot. Everything else is so intuitive as the app is doing a good job on guiding us in how to use the robot to scan and map rooms layout of the house. There’s a cool LIDAR tech that the robot use to accurately provide the spatial layout of the house. I’m pretty impressed that the robot was able to achieve an accurate production of the layout of my house in just one single swoop. The use of LIDAR instills confidence that the machine is, in fact a robot, not some pre-programmed automatic vacuum machine. The robot is indeed intelligent enough to navigate and maneuver itself. Cables and yarn can still entangle the robot, however, in which case the robot will send an audible warning and the app will send notification. The robot can lift the mop above carpets to prevent wet carpet messes, and this is something that the robots in Battle Bots tv show are capable to do. That is indeed pretty cool. The app allows you to perform both vacuum and mop operation in one single click, which is very nice. The never touch pro base is designed to empty debris, refill water tank and wash and dry the mopping pad after every clean. The whole system is designed for maintenance free cleaning for up to 30 days. It takes almost the entire bottle of Shark cleaning solution to mix in the water tank for every refill, so that’s going to be a regular maintenance item to restock every month or so. As for the cleaning job, you command the robot to vacuum only, mop only or do both. I can even send command to the robot to clean the house from work. The app keeps track of the robot movement. For regular cleaning, the app allows you to set schedule and you can also check the cleaning log. This is what a robot should be, simplify our life.

Robot vacuums have been around for a little while now and for the most part they just weren’t worth having, they never cleaned fully or would miss edges and lets not get started on how bad the mopping was. This has changed with the Shark PowerDetect 2 in 1 with never touch as it seems check all of the boxes needed for a robot vacuum. The installation of the Shark is very simple and straight forward, there are only a few pieces that you need to “install”, and the instruction pamphlet walks you through it. Once installation is done the Shark will do a scanning of your house to create a map of the property. App: The App for the Shark is laid out perfectly, you can see and edit just about anything. The mapping done by the Shark is excellent, this is so much more convenient than having to upload your homes blueprint. Shark allows you adjust the mapping to combine and split the rooms created by the home mapping which is great to help differentiate areas of cleaning. It was also very easy to add no go zone on the maps and adjust the sizing as needed. The app also allows you set time schedule for cleaning/mopping and customize which rooms you want cleaned. The App also updates its maps when you add/remove carpets by itself which was a nice touch. This added with the fact that you can do spot cleaning is great and makes the Shark one of the first good robot vacuums I have come across. Cleaning: The Shark PowerDetect 2-in1 is one of the best robot vacuums for several reasons and one of them being how well it does with cleaning of corners. The brush does a great job getting stuff out of corners, there is also an air function which blows air into corners to get dust out for vacuuming. The Shark mopping also does a decent job with corners as the pad sticks out to reach hard to get areas about 50 percent of the time. Speaking of the mopping pad, the way it differs from other robot vacuums is that it scrubs side to side to remove stains. It does a decent job with removing stains however it does not get tough dried on stains, I did notice that the vacuum will make multiple passes to clean an area, but it doesn’t get the stains that are dried on. Auto functions: The shark loaded with smart features which work extremely well for the most part. The Shark is excellent at sensing carpets and hard floors, this is perfect, so the mop does not wet the carpet. The Shark has a built hydraulics function where the wheels raise the mopping pad to make sure the Shark does not get your carpets wet or get stuck on thick rugs. The dirt sensing functions works well and when it senses an area that will require more time it will automatically slow down to get it as clean as possible. The built in Lidar system is wonderful, this helps the vacuum map your house and avoid items in its path. The Lidar system helps the vacuum avoid small objects like wires and detects bigger items such as toy/furniture. The self-cleaning system for the Sharp is great, all the dust goes into the side tray (which can hold up to 60 days of trash depending on how dirty your floors get). The automatic water/solution refill works perfectly and if the Shark runs out in the middle of a job it will refill it and go back to where it left off. There is also a mop-pad drying function, this does take quite a while though. Now if your worried about the trash that’s collected don’t worry as there is a odor neutralizer cartridge which makes sure there are no unsettling smells. The Bad: While the Shark PowerDetect 2-in-1 is a huge step up from prior vacuums it does have some quirks that need to be addressed which I feel can be done with a software update. I noticed that the avoidance system wasn’t as good with the lights off, I’m hoping this can be fixed with a software update. As mentioned earlier, the mopping pad handling the corners is a hit and miss. The last thing I wasn’t a fan of is that while the mopping pads are antimicrobial so you don’t have to worry about germs going everywhere they will need to be changed after 10 uses, the great thing is shark provides a few extras so you can get away without washing the mopping pads for a month. The Shark 2-in1 is one of the first robot vacuums that clean’s well enough so you won’t have to. The app is great and user friendly for anyone. I am happy Shark chose to use lidar system detection in comparison to camera is great as its great at detections and I’m not worried about a camera on my vacuum. Overall this is a great product with very few hiccups.

Shark PowerDetect, NeverTouch, Self-Empty, Self-Refill, Robot Vacuum and Mop. Bagless, 60-Day Debris Capacity. Auto mop pad self-drying. This vacuum and its base station is pretty quiet compare to others. I think its performance is also comparable to others in the same price range. The vacuum does not come with the user manual or guide, it wants you to scan a QR code to go to its web page for the guide, FAQ and videos. For me the video is preferred compare to reading the user guide/manual. Setting up is very easy, followed the quick start cardboard, install the app and the app will guide you with easy step by step instructions. The vacuum is able to map my house accurately. First run, it needs to map the house and after you agreed to it, it is strange that it took some time thinking before starting the task. I thought it crash or hang and so I did a power reboot but it behaves the same after reboot. Maybe it just needs some time to charge the battery. When doing vacuum task, it drops the mop pad on the base station, it only picks up the mop pad when doing mopping. The vacuum is able to avoid obstacle such as cable or power cord but does not seem to see white color cable/wires/cords. I did not test pet poop, hopefully it works on that too. It is also able to detect carpet and avoid mopping carpet but sometime the mop pad does touch the edge of the carpet. When moving over threshold and carpet, I did see it lift the pad up. When something caught under the vacuum, it will also lift the back side up. I like it that it extends the mop pad outward to the side to mop edge of my floor. There is no gray water tank, only clean water tank. So, when mopping, it just deposit water on the floor and let nature dries it. It does auto dry the mop pad but does not clean it, it will need a human to manually clean the pad. It is bagless on both vacuum robot and the base station. This saves money, no need to buy bags. When mopping, it sometime stuck in a loop, repeatedly mopping the same location over and over again. Seems like it saw hidden tough dirt or stain and repeatedly mopping it to try to get the stain out. It should quit after a set number of passes, hopefully a firmware update can fix it. If the hard floor has different color pattern, I think it will also confuse the robot. I saw it backs away from a darker color wood strip. It is not perfect but overall, I am still happy with this robot.

I’ve been using the Shark RV2820YE Robot Vacuum/Mop for a little over a week. Overall, my feelings have been mostly positive. I had a robot vacuum a few years ago, but my wife didn’t like it because it kept going all over the house. It went from room to room all day. It would go into a room then turn around and go into a different room. It would stay there for 10-15 seconds then go back to the previous room for a couple minutes. It was very annoying. This unit is different. I took it out of the box, put everything together, filled the water and soap chamber, and let it charge. As it was charging, I installed the Shark Clean app on my android phone and paired the unit to my phone. Once charged, I sent it out to map my home. It did a pretty good job. The problem I had was I took the option to auto define rooms. It didn’t do that very well. It had rooms on both sides of a wall and was really a mess. I decided to start over and had it map the house again. It did a better job this time. I manually setup the rooms, which for me seemed to work better. Now it was time to clean. I picked a room and sent it out to vacuum the room. I went to the room, sat down and watched it go. It did a good job of vacuuming the floors in a logical manner. It didn’t jump all over the place to get the job done, like my previous one had. I then sent it out to mop the same room and it did pretty much the same routes, but lifted the back end, whenever it encountered a rug on the floor. I have found that if you tell it to do the whole house, that you can have it vacuum the carpeted areas and rugs and then vacuum and mop the rest of the areas at the same time. This cannot be done when cleaning by room, only when doing thew whole home. Whole home mopping or vacuuming can be kicked off by pressing buttons on the robot, or via the Shark Clen App. You can also schedule it to clean at certain times and days. One of the big drawbacks to the app is you can only schedule 1 cleaning per day, and you can only schedule whole home cleanings. You can’t schedule individual rooms, or multiple cleanings on a single day. This is something that really should be addressed. For example, I have a cleaning schedule were I clean certain parts of the home on certain days of the week. It would be nice to have it clean the master suite on Mondays, the Kitchen on Tuesdays, and the hallways and guest bath on Wednesdays and the other rooms on other days. I don’t clean the entire house in one day, so why should the robot have to? The robot has a feature called DirtDetect. When it detects hidden dirt, it boosts power and when it finds a mess, it deep cleans in a 3 foot by 3 foot pattern. When it detects carpet or rugs, it uses ActiveLift to lift the mopping pad off the floor so it won’t get the carpet wet. The robot also features NeverStuck which allows it to detect, avoid and maneuver around objects that other robots might get stuck on. You can use the app an look at it’s cleaning history. It shows what areas were done each day, how long it ran, and where it activated DirtDetect. You can also use the app to do spot cleaning by having it do a particular area in one specific room. You have the ability to setup “No-Go Zones”. These are areas that you want to keep the robot from ever going into. It’s a nice feature to keep it out of wires underneath your desk, or from jumping over horizontal legs on furniture where it could get stuck. Because it can go over thresholds up to 1 inch in height, this can be a real problem with furniture like I show in one of my photos below. I like the fact that the base station empties the dust storage on the robot and holds plenty of water and soap for mopping the whole house numerous times. It also has an odor control device that you can adjust to the level you desire, preventing the stored dirt from smelling up the house. After using the moping feature, it dries the mopping pad so it doesn’t get moldy. There is another version of the robot that also cleans the pad whenever it returns, but this one just dries the pad. You have to wash it yourself. It also, of course, recharges the robot. I did have one issue with the robot. While it was vacuuming fine, when I asked it to mop, it would come off the dock, spin about 170 degrees and then sit there running. I did whatever troubleshooting that I could, and then called Shark Support. I spent an hour on the line with them with no results. They said they would send it to second level support and contact me the next day, While I didn’t get a call the next day, it did start mopping again. The following day they called and told me they had sent a firmware upgrade to it the previous day, so that must have been the fix. Overall this robot does everything you could want it to do. It could do a better job on edges, but I’ve never found a robot that does them as well as I would like. I’m a little surprised that it only has the spinning brush on one side, but they must have their reason. In any case, I highly recommend this robot vacuum/mop.

t works exactly as it should! I have had a long line of high end robot vacuums since 2008. But I have never had a Shark. Wow. The artificial intelligence in this device is just amazing. I was doubtful it would do more than adequately vacuum. I was wrong. It vacuums and mops brilliantly. Set up is a snap. Download the app, follow the instructions. You’ll be cleaning in fifteen minutes. The first task is mapping your space. It takes a couple hours and is near perfectly accurate. The app walks you through labeling rooms and merging spaces, or splitting them. Send the robot to vacuum, and she leaves the mop pad on the dock, takes off and vacuums. The curb feelers actually get the edges without leaving cobwebs. It’s still has not become stuck anywhere it can’t get out of! That has been a big downfall from robots of other brands. When the job is done, it returns itself to the base and you’ll hear the whoosh of the base, sucking all the dirt out of the vacuum and cleaning it. Send the robot to mop, and she picks up the pad, tilts a bit to vacuum ahead without wetting the surface, then mops. It mops thoroughly! It goes over spots and scrubs them! Spots around the dog bowls were completely gone—and I usually have to pre-clean those myself. The shark is quickly making a case for not paying someone to come in and clean our floors. There is no scummy film left around the quarter rounds and baseboards. It looks better than when mop them myself. Then after the mop job is complete. It returns to base and dries out its own mop pad. It is truly hands-free, vacuuming and mopping. We have rugs, carpet, jute, rugs, and hardwood floors. It handles all of them beautifully! This is by far the best robot vacuum I have ever owned. I would recommend it highly especially to people who doubt the capabilities the more I use it the more I love it!

The Shark - PowerDetect NeverTouch, Self-Empty & Self-Refill, Robot Vacuum and Mop with Bagless, 60-Day Debris Capacity & Pad Dry - is a great way to make floor care chores a breeze. After charging the system, filling the cleaning solution reservoir, adding a mop pad, clicking on a scent control module and edge sensor and downloading the app it's ready to go. The robot is app controlled. On the first use the app sends the robot out to map the areas to be cleaned. The map can be subdivided to enable the cleaning of an area less than the entire map. "No go zones" can also be designated to keep the robot out of those areas. The robot senses what type of floor it is on and if it is on a mopping and vacuuming combination run it will raise the wet mop pad and keep it off of carpet as it goes from one surface to another. It does a good job of crossing transition strips and navigating onto carpet from a hard surface. The instructions state that the system is safe for wood flooring as long as they are sealed. My wood flooring is late 50's oil finished (not sealed) parquet. I will only vacuum my wood. I initially mapped my kitchen, utility, butlers pantry area. The map the robot and app created found it to be a bit under 600 SF. After mapping I started a mopping run. The robot mopped an outline of the butlers pantry area and went back to the dock. I think it was in a dump and recharge mode which I didn't understand at the time. I waited a few minutes and started it over. It mopped the entire area in around 50 minutes. There were a couple of sticky spots where I dripped while cutting up a watermelon earlier and a spot where the cat had spilled wet cat food. The dried on cat food and sticky drips were gone after the robot mop job! The robot can detect dirtier areas, stains, floor types and adjust the cleaning power accordingly. The robot self refills cleaning fluid for 30 days on a base reservoir fill. The robot self empties the dust bin into the base and the base is said to hold 60 days of debris. This robot is feature rich and so far has made my floor care chore effortless. I wish I had discovered this long ago!

The Shark - Robot Vacuum & Mop PowerDetect NeverTouch, Combo, Self-Emptying & Self-Refilling, 60-Day Debris Capacity with Pad Dry - Gaia Grey offers a compact and easy to setup robovac that does an effective job at both tasks. The setup was pretty simple and the directions walked me through it step-by-step. Setup took about 30 minutes from opening the box to sending the robot out on it's mapping mission. Just a few stickers and tape to remove and filling up the water tank with the included 16 oz cleaning solution. Then plugging in the scent pod into the top of the base. Downloading the software and walking through the setup was fairly easy with the QR code sending me to the download page. Once you connect your app to the wireless network and then to your vacuum you can control all the features of the vacuum. You can also operate it without the app using the controls on the vacuum, but I did not try that personally. The packaging was well fitted and appears to be 95% recyclable. That's nice to see more companies going that route! The first thing the vacuum will do is wander through all the rooms on the floor of your house where it's setup and create a map of the rooms. It gives you the opportunity to approve the map once it returns to it's base. You can also send it out on a carpet mapping mission which is nice so you can see on the virtual map where it's detected carpets to avoid when using the mopping feature. The vacuuming and mopping both did a pretty solid job. Of course it won't be able to get into all spaces so you'll still need to vacuum and mop those areas manually, but it should save you from the daily job of keeping the majority of the floors clean. Stuck on spots for the mop won't be tackled with one run of the mop. It would most likely take a couple rounds or just using a spot mop and quickly working the spot manually. This is the first robot I've had that has such an automated system for switching from vacuum and mop. It's hands-free and makes it much simpler than my other robot that needs to be setup manually each time before it mops and it doesn't have the carpet mapping so the automation of this vac is much more convenient. I do think the intelligence of the robot needs a little bit of work yet. I find that it seems to cover the same area multiple times to where I wonder if it's stuck in a loop but then it works itself out and continues. Perhaps it's just being thorough by making multiple passes. I also find that the application takes a while to communicate with the vacuum when you're trying to start a task. Sometimes it takes a minute or 2 before the task actually starts on the vacuum which causes me to wonder what is taking so long to start. I also have a recent model Eufy vacuum robot and it seems to handle tasks immediately and makes it's way around the house quicker / seems to handle tight spots better without getting confused. I'm guessing Shark will enhance the intelligence with software updates over time. The robot does a good job going over bumps and carpets. It detected a drop in the floor and didn't fall off the ledge even with limited room to maneuver, so that was good! The software allows you to do the entirety of the mapped area, specific rooms, or just a specific area that you can isolate on the map. This is nice when you want to just target a problem area like around my parrot's cage that needs several vacuuming's a day! You can setup scheduled cleanings and set no-go zones on the map. One thing that would be nice if they added is a visual update of the robot on the map as it's doing it's work. This is one thing that my Eufy app does that is really nice and I definitely miss being able to see where the robot is currently at just looking at my phone while it's out doing it's work. Hopefully Shark adds this functionality to their software. This robot will replace my Eufy on the main floor and I'll move the Eufy upstairs. The main floor has hardwood and tile flooring so it will be nice to have the mopping feature! The upstairs is carpeted so that will be a better fit for the Eufy. Overall I think this is a decent solution but I do hope they continue updating the firmware over time and the app features. I would like to see the lag between telling the vacuum to do something to when it actually starts doing the task greatly improved. The scent pods and the cleaning solution will be something that needs to be purchased as needed, but I love that this is a bagless solution. My Eufy has expensive bags that need to be replaced, so bagless will be much nicer! The vacuum itself seems solid and well-made as well as the base, so I hope I get many years of usage out of it. Not sure yet how often I'll need to replace the mop pads. I do love that it automatically attaches and stores them in the base when it needs to mop or not.

This turned into a long review. So short version (out of 5 stars): mapping is 5 stars, object avoidance is 4.5 stars, vacuuming is 5 stars, mopping is 4 stars, convenience & ease of use is 5 stars. So, this will be the third robot vacuum that I have had, but the first one with a mop. That said, the one I had previously was comparably priced when new (3 years ago). This is significantly better than any other one I have had before. It has been running in my house for two weeks and has only got stuck twice. Once because I had left rolls or wrapping paper out... and I find it fair that it might go over something flat like paper and the panic when it turns out to be a huge roll of it. The second time was on a tree skirt for a Christmas tree, but it only got stuck there once and then has done perfectly fine on subsequent days. Mapping and avoiding objects is fantastic so far. The vacuuming does quite great. 3 dogs (one being a husky/malamute mix that sheds constantly), 2 cats, and 3 children and this keeps the floor looking pretty decent on its own. I have it set to vacuum every morning. I have not had to empty the bin a single time yet. Mopping does decent. The floor is considerably cleaner since getting this (we never mopped enough). It cleans light stains/soils without any issue. Things like spills seem to be handled well. Extremely sticky spots and areas that have built up don't come up as easily. I have it mop twice per week, and the floor looks good with that. The convenience is unmatched. The dust bin really does hold at least 2 weeks worth of dirt (even with my overly full household). I have not needed to refill the mop reservoir yet, but it looks like I will get 3 weeks out of each fill. I wash the mop pad weekly so far (but will do more if there is something exceptionally gross on the floor or lots of rain) and it seems to be working well with that - came with 2 mop pads so it is no issue to just swap it out. I have cleaned the brush roll every few days, but honestly feel like it was unnecessary each time because it does a great job of keeping itself pretty clean. The dustbin does NOT use disposable bags, so that is amazing - one less consumable to buy! It goes quicker than my previous models. It cleans about 1200 sq ft in my house and does so within about 60 minutes for just a vacuum and 75 minutes when it does vacuum and mop.

I have two teenagers, five indoor cats, and live on a farm with lots of mud, so the struggle is real to keep the floors clean. I picked up the Shark PowerDetect Nevertouch mop and vacuum with some skepticism that it would be able to replace the daily vacuuming that I do currently. After a week of use, I've been proven wrong. I have had previous versions of robot vacuums but none with this level of autonomy to both navigate the house as well as swap between vacuuming and mopping with zero user intervention. In the box is the docking station with ramp, vacuum, sample of floor cleaner, extra side brush, extra mop pad, odor cartridge, and instructions. Setup is easy, there is a quick one page visual guide, however it's also intuitive. Install base with 1' clearance on both sides and 2' clearance in front, install ramp, fill with water and cleaning solution, press side brush into receiver on bottom of robot and then place on the base. The odor cartridge on the dust bin was a new feature from any other models I've tried previously, but the guide was easy to follow to lock the cartridge into place. The companion app is Shark Clean, which I've used with previous robots, and have zero issues with stability or compatibility with my Android phone. The app will easily walk through wifi connection to the robot, and then it's ready to go to work. To start with the only negative upfront, I think the limiting factor on performance is the app, it has a ton of potential to do things such as scheduled spot clean or multiple cleaning of select rooms, or even twice a day cleaning, but fails to deliver on these options. My specific goal that I can't achieve with this robot is that I'd like it to go twice a day and clean the area where the cats track cat litter, and then spot mop the area. The app does state that they are adding new features and spot cleaning or multiple cleanings per day may be an option in the future. A few other minor things, the room labels are preset and do not actually represent the rooms in the house, and the app doesn't track the component life such as brush replacements, like some other brands do. Outside of the app, I find the robot to perform exceptionally well. The house is hardwood floor or tile throughout, with a few low pile rugs in front of the exterior facing doors. The robot will vacuum everything, including the rugs, but when mopping it leaves a small space between the mopping area and the rugs. Second performance call out is that this robot does a better job of navigating obstacles than another name brand robot that I use. I am currently renovating a room, so a ton of obstacles, and then I cannot even see the floor in my son's room. In both rooms the robot has mapped and worked around obstacles to minimize areas that are not vacuumed. I estimate this vacuum gets almost 20% more coverage, based on comparing the cleaning maps between the two different robots. The thing that really sets this robot design apart from other styles I've tried is that it is truly hands free for daily cleaning. This is achieved by a few design components, first of which is the mopping base can self detach so the robot can swap between vacuuming and mopping without intervention. The app will let you schedule if the robot vacuums, mops, or both, and when the robot is vacuuming, the mopping base and pad are left behind on the dock (see photo). The second design feature is a mopping reservoir built into the charging dock. The robot will refill itself from the dock as needed, eliminating the need to add water other than when the base runs out. For me, this will probably be once a month, but experience will vary based on how frequently you run a mop cycle and the square footage of the area being cleaned. A nice feature is that when the robot is done with a mopping cycle, it will go to the base and run air through the pad to help it dry. I like the feature, but I now make sure that any mopping is done by mid afternoon so I don't have to listen to the drying noise (think box fan level of sound) at night while we are trying to sleep. Lastly is a large dust bin with a replaceable odor cartridge, while for many this may take a month to fill, I'm estimating that I actually need to go empty the dust bin every ~10 days due to the amount of pet hair and dirt that gets tracked in, combined with having about 1100 sq ft of area to vacuum each cycle. Comparing this build to prior robot models from Shark and other brands, I find that this vacuum is quieter, both the actual vacuum as well as the suction noise of emptying the robot into the dust bin. The robot is by far the best model I've tried for not getting stuck and maneuvering around obstacles. The cleaning seems to be better than most in the fact that I hear the robot change suction based on floor type and if there is lose debris to clean up. For example is picking up cat litter that has been tracked out of the box, other robots tend to fling the cat litter everywhere, whereas this one will actually get the majority picked up the first pass. One last feature that really stands out is that the mopping pad slightly extends and shifts from under the robot profile to get the best coverage around edges, corners and rugs. Overall I think this is a great robot, it's by far the most automated of the ones I've used, and seems to be better at not getting stuck, cleaning problem areas, and working around obstacles. I definitely recommend for any pet parent, as it's one less thing to worry about every day.

Unboxing - No unnecessary packaging. It came with a Quick Start Poster with simple graphics instructions. This Shark Vacuum was easy to assemble. It took approximately 15 minutes to setup the basics to be ready to connect to the wireless network. Setup - The App allowed quick pairing to Wi-Fi. You can personalize it, naming the Robot. At first it maps your home, the sensors will identify corners, and it's slim enough to get under your sofa or around your furniture it begins scanning from walls to the center of the house. The wheels can swiftly climb from hardwood floors to carpet. It will drive in reverse if encounters no access. Vacuum and Mopping - It surprised me that it works quite well, and it will go back to recharge on its own. A female voice announces, the task, if refilling, recharging or when it’s done. Pros - I do like the fact I can remote from the app to have my house clean while I'm away. Cons – It is loud but bearable. I just decided to run this while at work, so I do not need to hear it. When I come home the house is clean which is awesome. It does drive my dogs a little crazy when it is running and they are in their crates but I just need to balance that with my work time. Recommendation - May need to have it mop individual rooms rather than the whole house, as it can leave small areas without cleaning but once you do it room by room it becomes more thorough. Saves lots of time cleaning and it does a pretty decent job. Also, it detects debris but is not so good at removing tough stains on the floor unless you select the spot option. Strongly advise cleaning room by room as best practice. Wish it had direct voice control.

I was excited to get the Shark NeverTouch robot mop and vacuum. My current robotic vacuum works well, but the separate mopping robot worked for about six months and broke – so I have been vacuuming only on the first floor. Shark really has an excellent package here. The box it comes in is quite large, but I’d estimate that at least 90-95% of the packaging is recyclable. I was expecting a lot of different components here, but assembly was easy. In the box is the base unit, the robot, an odor-absorbing cartridge, a bottle of cleaning solution,and the mopping pads. There’s a quick start guide that gives you a few steps to get the robot set up—but it’s very intuitive. Physical set-up is easy. All you have to do is plug in the base, attach the side brush and a mopping pad, put the robot on the base, fill the reservoir with the cleaning solution, and top off with water. At this point, you’re ready to pair the robot with the Shark app. I already have a Shark vacuum upstairs, so I didn’t have to download the Shark app. Adding the robot was easy and took only a few minutes. Once the robot is added, you can see the robot’s status in the app. It was about 70% charged when I completed assembly, and I set up the discovery job to run ASAP. Once the robot charged, it ran a discovery job and discovered where we have carpeting and wood floors. After completing the discovery job, you can mark up the map on the phone to define rooms and no-go zones. Sometimes, seeing a map of your home is a bit confusing at first, as you have to account for stairways and large furniture when figuring out which room is which. All in all, it’s an easy task, and it took about 5 minutes to complete. I scheduled a manual cleaning job to run after discovery. The robot went out and vacuumed effectively the borders of each room and then went back home. After the job, I dug into the history and found I had scheduled a vacuum-only job. I still found it strange that it only did a portion of the floors, but I attributed this to the fact that maybe the robot is still learning the space. I then kicked off a vacuum job and then a mopping job, which it completed without intervention. It had been about a week since we had mopped the floors, and the floors looked great afterward. I have had four robot vacuums in my home and have upgraded over time for new features like self emptying, mopping, etc.. This Shark robot is by far the quietest operating robot I’ve ever owned. My last robot was from one of the other big brands, and I had to close my door when I was having conference calls as it was so loud. This robot can come in my office and it's barely noticeable. This is a massive plus for this robot. It also has a very cool feature where it will raise itself up to move over objects that would otherwise impede its progress or potentially cause it to get stuck, like vacuuming over a phone charging cable that would get caught in the brushes. I set this robot to run on a schedule of Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday morning. On days when the robot runs, we ensure that we clean the floor of larger debris (including Legos!) and we flip all of our chairs on top of the table and bar so the robot can clean all of the floor, unimpeded. Since then, I’ve kicked off a few manual jobs and set up a schedule, I haven’t gotten one successful cleaning session that hasn’t required me to intervene somehow. The first job vacuumed only the border areas again and then went home. The second job vacuumed more of the home, but not all. The mopping job on the third run mopped all of the hard surfaces and, apparently, some parts of the house that are carpeted, according to the map. The scheduled vacuum/mop job on Thursday did a pretty decent job, but it still shows that it didn’t vacuum all of the office. I’m writing this on Sunday, and the job scheduled for this morning at 9:00A kicked off on time. Still, the robot’s battery died when it was in my office and never returned to base – even after I looked in the app and the robot said it would return to base to charge and then complete the job. I don’t think we have an out-of-the-ordinary home; we keep our floors fairly clear of objects that would throw the robot off, but the robot can’t seem to finish a job for whatever reason. I was super excited about this robot, and I’ll give it a shot over the next couple of weeks, but if it can’t finish a job without me intervening – then it’s not a good solution. Maybe it’s still learning the lay of the land; perhaps a firmware update will help it. Maybe I have to flip it over and see if the sensors are clean. However, where it does clean, it does a great job, and it does it quietly.
