This complete performance was a BBC studio recording, broadcast on 11 March 1956. The source recording is part of the 'Itter Broadcast Collection' held by Lyrita Recorded Edition Trust. For this BBC studio recording the assembled cast presents all that was best in British singing of the time. It also captures Joan Sutherland - one of the greatest divas of any time - at an interim point in her early career. She had sung her first major role (Amelia, Un ballo in maschera) at Covent Garden in 1952. She had taken part in Britten's Gloriana (1953) and created the role of Jennifer in Tippet's The Midsummer Marriage (1955), but the 'bel canto' roles that would define her career did not appear until 1959 when she sung Lucia di Lammermoor at the Royal Opera House.

Hope (Deluxe Reissue) - Shamir's art is a synthesis of the full spectrum of human emotion; sensual, furious, yearning, joyful. The freedom in his self produced and released Hope, although tethered through style to greats (like Miss Nina Simone, Prince, and Taylor Swift) is based almost entirely in a hyper specific, fully autonomous, embodied expression of personhood. Originally-and somewhat begrudgingly-released via SoundCloud in 2017, Hope was received with the sort of enthusiasm that marks this work as a truly iconic, world building project that only Shamir could have constructed. The original vinyl pressing was quick to sellout, and now, via the venerated tag Kill Rock Stars and following it's 5 year anniversary, Hope finds itself remastered on color vinyl, in a gatefold jacket and featuring two never-before-heard bonus tracks; marking a maturation all the way from Shamir's bedroom 4-track to platforms available worldwide.
