She Is Conann - DVD

When 10-year-old Luis Palaus father passes away, Luis is forced to discontinue his formal education at an elite boarding school in Argentina to provide for his struggling family. Luis devotes his life to God, begins preaching, launches a radio show and is ultimately invited to the United States to become a missionary. To eventually fulfill this vision, he must overcome many challenges. Luis learns to stand firm in the plans God has before him while contending with serious threats to his safety as he began evangelizing in South America amidst violent political turmoil. An unexpected encounter with Billy Graham would again change his life forever bringing about the launch of Palaus global ministry at a level only God could ordain. Built upon his unwavering belief that the teachings of the Bible and a relationship with God are the foundation of life, Luis presents the GOOD NEWS to millions. The path is not always easy, but remaining dedicated to the vision God placed in his heart along with his consistent message of hope and love, Luis Palau has become one of the greatest evangelists in history. The legacy of what God can do with a willing heart will inspire people of faith for generations.

In a barbaric fantasy sci-fi trip through time, sword-and-sorcery mythology is bent, fractured, and gender-swapped by master visionary Bertrand Mandico in his third feature epic. Six lives, six eras, and six deaths mark Conann's poetic journey through different incarnations and lesbian loves. Guiding Conann through her many epic lives is Elina Löwensohn (Amateur, Let the Corpses Tan) as Rainer, a Cerberus of many otherworldly dimensions whose paparazzi camera sees all. The perversity of The Wild Boys and the hero's journey of After Blue (Dirty Paradise) come together in this even greater handmade homage as Mandico ropes in influences as rich as Fellini Satyricon, The Night Porter, The Hunger, and Fassbinder's entire oeuvre to craft a moving portrait of a warrior trying to find her place while outside of space, time, and meaning. This official selection of Cannes Directors' Fortnight, Fantastic Fest, and Sitges Inchthrives on it's own bizarre extravagance as it pushes the limits of substance and styleInch (Collider).
