Shelter - Mantra (30th Anniversary) - VINYL LP

Described by TIME Magazine as Inchgloomy and sexual yet lively and introspectiveInch, Garbage's second studio album Version 2.0, released in 1998, was heralded as a bold progression from their self-titled debut album and went on to sell over four million copies worldwide, matching the success of it's predecessor. Formed in 1993 comprising of members Duke Erikson, Steve Marker, Butch Vig and Shirley Manson, Garbage have gone onto sell over 17 million albums worldwide over a 28 year career.

Shelter is the fourth album by contemporary shoegazers Alcest, the destination of a long creative musical journey into vast new territories. More than ever the French outfit consisting of mastermind and multi-instrumentalist Neige and drummer Winterhalter embraces the dreamy guitar textures of shoegaze and blends it with the sweetness of British band Cocteau Twins - dream pop pioneers of the mid to late 80's era - epic, soundtrack-like melodies and progressive song structures. The album which features guest appearances from Slowdive's Neil Halstead (lead vocals on the song InchAwayInch), Sweden's Promise And The Monster's Billie Lindahl and Amiina's strings sections was recorded at Sundlaugin Studio, Iceland, with Sigur Rós producer Birgir Jón Birgisson who masterfully gave InchShelterInch it's light and ethereal sound.

This limited color vinyl pressing marks the 15th anniversary of Maps & Atlases' Barsuk debut full-length LP, Perch Patchwork, a masterful and beautiful suite of songs that has earned the band a cult following over the ensuing years. Their previous two EPs employed an arid, live sound, setting up Perch Patchwork to dazzle with it's rich contrast of strings, horns, assorted percussion, and a variety of toy instruments, all placed just-so on some spot-on songwriting. In a world cluttered with digitally-produced ephemera, an album that flows from beginning to end with such deliberate and organic grace is all the more special - not to mention a perfect soundtrack for the hissing of summer lawns.
