Sidney Bechet - New York-Glovesville 1932-1943 - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

We can see that he is crazy about his art, this man, that music is for him a vital function. How we'd love all musicians to be like him! These words were spoken by Alfred Loewenguth, a violinist and prestigious interpreter of Ravel and Debussy about Sidney Bechet. Sidney Bechet was the undisputed the king of the soprano saxophone and also one of the most innovative and original clarinetists in jazz. He brought an unequaled energy, clarity and verve to his chosen instruments, and was best known for his heavy vibrato.
