Sifaoui - Histoire de L'islam Politique - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Since 2015 the threat of terrorism has become familiar. Although the West was already violently affected in 2001, the history of jihadism goes back much further. How did Islamist terrorism come about? What role did the West play in using this phenomenon against pan-Arab nationalism during the Cold War? How does Saudi Arabia spread Salafist ideas? What role did the Muslim Brotherhood play? What impact did the Iranian revolution have? How did the Taliban, Hezbollah, FIS, Al-Qaeda and Daesh emerge? The history of terrorism is complex and instrumentalized from all sides, this presentation provides keys to understanding and the necessary distance to better grasp the subject with discernment, without shortcuts and without simplism.

Youssef Seddik, is an associate professor of philosophy and doctor of anthropology, specialist in philosophy in Islamic countries. He devoted his life to the study of monotheistic sacred texts and in particular to the study of the Koran. The Quran is the sacred text of Islam. For nearly two billion Muslims, it constitutes the foundations of faith and guides their spirituality. It collects the words of Allah through the revelation made to the Prophet Muhammad. In clear language Youssef Seddik tells us how the Koran was constituted, how it spread in the world, what are the main readings and the different obediences to which they gave rise. This historical and scientific analysis offers Muslims and non-Muslims an essential key to understanding the history of civilizations.
