I wanted to start dabbling in macro photography, but discovered a lens instead that is ALSO a great portrait lens and product photography lens. I LOVE this lens so much. The images are sharp, the focus is pretty fast, and the price point for such lovely results makes this a great buy. I use it for capturing details, but I find myself using it for everyday life too (at an f5+ minimum to keep everything in focus- it opens up a lot more for extra light or detail shots) and love that I literally can do it all with this lens. I haven't taken it off my camera since I got it.

I really like this lens! It definitely takes practice to use, but the photos I can get with this are worth the $$. I can shoot macro OR even portraits
