Get the whole picture
This lens exudes quality. It's built like a tank . It looks as good as it functions. I can finally stop complaining that I wish I had a wider lens. At 8mm, this lens captures nearly 180 degrees of view, albeit with rectilinear distortion (square distortion vs the round distortion of a fish-eye lens). But you can use that creatively. At 16mm, no distortion. Picture quality is superb - beautifully even exposure and amazingly sharp. Would love a larger aperture for capturing in low light, but have not been disappointed. This is my first $500+ lens and I say it's definitely worth it.
