It features a 16550 UART with 256-byte FIFO buffers, supporting asynchronous baud rates up to 921.6 Kbps for smooth data transmission. Each port supports standard RS-232 or selectable 5V/12V power for powered devices such as scanners and POS displays, configurable via jumpers. The PCI Express x1 interface works with slots of all lane widths (x1, x4, x8, x16) and supports multiple serial formats (5–9 data bits). An onboard power connector ensures steady power delivery, and the adapter supports hardware and software flow control for dependable communication. It comes with both full-height and low-profile brackets for easy installation in standard or compact PC chassis.
