About this product
THE SILVER make their Gilead Media debut with the album Ward of Roses. A record that is at once extreme and exposed, horrific yet beautiful, Ward of Roses explores anxiety, love, loss, and the matters that make us all too human. From InchFirst UtteranceInch to InchThen SilenceInch the curtain rises and falls on a haunting tableau of human frailty, a romantic and visceral exploration of the dark recesses of the soul. Featuring members of Horrendous and Crypt Sermon, Ward of Roses marks a decidedly different path for the musical collective. An album that deals in blast beats as much as romanticism, Ward of Roses progresses through movements that draw from black metal, goth rock, and other bleak expressions.V's soaring clean vocals mingle with cathartic guitars while vocalist Nick Duchemin howls over strident blast passages often in the same song. THE SILVER's ethos alludes to metallurgy. Silver can only reach it's intended shape, state, and purpose when hammered, set ablaze, and struck again. As the hymns of Ward of Roses suggest, we are tempered through all of our life experiences and traumas, emerging only after we have leapt through the flames of our personal abysses.... Vinyl LP pressing. In Prism is the best Polvo record even before you get to the majestic InchA Link in the Chain,Inch serene and tempestuous like few other things you'll hear. The album was recorded with Brian Paulson and Polvo has never sounded better. Polvo spent 1990 98 giving voice to a chorus of discrete rock & roll ideas that really hadn't been heard before. While there was nothing wrong before, it's now so much more right perhaps because after ten years, after other bands and and their tours and records and worries (if they had any), none of the peripheral stuff matters anymore. - Mike Wolf, NYC, 6/09

This album is a gift to my wife, my Love Virginie who loves Christmas and Christmas music as much as I do.The idea was to do something different and fresh, with a bluesy twist, instead of just a InchtraditionalInch approach to some of the Christmas classics. It was the InchChristmas with Chet AtkinsInch album that inspired me to want to play guitar, and I have always wanted to make an album of Christmas electric guitar instrumentals. Thanks to her encouragement, that wish has finally come true. All songs are complete performances without any fixes, punching in, or editing.1. Winter Wonderland 2. White Christmas 3. Here Comes Santa Claus 4. Silent Night 5. Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town 6. The First Noel 7. Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! 8. Hallelujah 9. Joy To The World/Angels We Have Heard On High 10. Merry Christmas, Baby11. Silver Bells
If the sanguine cedar scent of Cosmic Americana and the bright jingle jangle of Neo-Psych Rock has led you through the last couple of years, then chances are good you've had a brush with Silver Synthetic. The members of the New Orleans band ditched the dirtier riffs of their past projects (Jeff The Brotherhood, Bottomfeeders) for a West Coast curl that balanced country twang and honeyed harmonies with a rhythmic stomp that fishtailed through the speakers with glee. An eponymous full length on Third Man fully distilled the scope of their sound, turning stage-battered ballads and barroom burners into one of 2021's most promising debuts. They return for a second salvo, honed with a tour-tight symbiosis and some ace drop-ins from southern slingers Luke Schneider (pedal steel) and Rex Gregory (sax, flute). Rosalie finds Silver Synthetic refining their sound, softening their approach, and letting a breeze of '70s AOR weave among the country swagger. Between the tanned riffs, the band also balances societal burnout with sunshine, transforming scoffs and sneers into smoke-curled sighs draped in a windows-down aura. They make their way to Curation Records for the new outing, a welcome home for the band's sun-streaked Americana, turning 'Preflyte' Byrds, JJ grooves, beach-bound Neil, and 'Water of Love'-era Dire Straits into an album that smooths the seams and steers the listener towards new horizons.
