Double vinyl LP pressing. 2015 . Ego Death is The Internet's most evolved album to date, featuring guest appearances from the likes of Janelle Monae, Tyler, the Creator, and Vic Mensa. The band says Ego Death is about 'being vulnerable and honest. It's about us growing up as a band and as individuals, and the challenges we're facing and learning from. It's about us acknowledging our egos and the egos around us, and using them the best way we know how.' Ego Death was recorded in the band's hometown of Los Angeles. The album is a heady mix of confessions and come-ons, shiny Rhodes keyboard glimmers, chugging drums, slinking bass lines, and Syd's honeyed voice anchoring the mix. It's a record that connects the dots between Digable Planets, Erykah Badu's Baduizm, the warm, inviting breezes of the West Coast, and the stories that only happen very late at night or very early in the morning, all played by musicians who are carrying the soul torch for the new generation. Drop the needle anywhere on The Darkness' Motorheart and be instantly transported from this moaning and weeping vale of tears to Elysian fields of rock where all hands are raised, the drinks - just as in the Club Tropicana of yore - are free, and everyone wears a pleasingly salacious grin. Does it rock? Is the sun hot? Has your partner's touch grown cold? The Darkness are the Orwellian boot stamping on the flaccid face of limp rock, forever! Motorheart brims with the UK glam rock giants' trademark blazing guitar riffs and solos, soaring falsetto and immeasurable rock 'n' roll extravagance. Regarding the title track single, Justin Hawkins says, Inch'Motorheart' rocks harder than anything we've done before. It makes me happy and proud to crank it up and literally shake my Swiss chalet to it's foundations. Dan did an awesome job on the production, it'll take your face off, but your skull will be grinning from meatus to meatus.Inch Album Tracks 1. Welcome Tae Glasgae 2. It's Love, Jim 3. Motorheart 4. The Power and the Glory of Love 5. Jussys Girl 6. Sticky Situations 7. Nobody Can See Me Cry 8. Eastbound 9. Speed of the Nite Time
