Each album in the 3 album set Paris Musette is a reference for every fan of InchmusetteInch accordion in the whole world. This series initiated by producers Franck Bergerot and Didier Roussin for the tag founded by Patrick Tandin aimed to provide the best recording conditions possible for major artists in a genre that had fallen out of favour, despite the fact that their repertoire was nothing less than the 'world music' of France in the pre- and post-war years. The first 3 volumes in the series appeared in 1990, 1993 and 1997 respectively, and were phenomenally successful in making the accordion a desirable instrument again, not only in World and Jazz circles but also in popular song. Returning to it's origins, and once again a 'legitimate' style, the music of Paris Musette spread to Canada, the United States and Asia, while the musicians played on world tours. The series sold more than 100, 000 copies and was licensed to Sony for distribution in Japan.

Eccentric and dilettante, the quintessential English grand bourgeois, Sir Thomas Beecham was a self-taught conductor with a highly personal style and taste, brimming with elegance and charm. Beyond his tireless activity on stages around the world, he championed an eclectic repertoire ranging from Handel to Stravinsky, encompassing great classics as well as French composers such as Debussy, Saint-Saëns, and Bizet -his Carmen remains a landmark recording. A passionate advocate for the music of his compatriot Frederick Delius, Beecham also played a pivotal role in 20th-century English musical life, founding both the London Philharmonic Orchestra (1932) and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (1946). This box set brings together all the stereo recordings from his rich discography for Columbia and HMV, including the very first experimental stereo recording of Mozart's Symphony No. 41 first movement from April 1934.

We do not know much about Nicolo Sanguinazzo, but it has been assumed he was active between 1690 and 1720, and that he was close to Antonio Caldara. On his autographed manuscripts he refers to himself as Olocin Ozzaniugnas, that is his name spelled back to front, a Dilettante di Violoncello. His Book of Exercises represents the great opportunity to go through the meticulous technique of the subtle, graceful, and cheerful Parlando-manner. Dietmar Berger is a German musician and painter. The Cologne-based cellist and gambist is a member of the Delos Trio Köln (with Gudrun Höbold, violin and Hubert Käppel, guitar). His works as a painter range from finely structured Madonna pictures, created under the formative impression of the sacred art of his native city of Cologne, to powerful landscape painting - for him actually a field of experimentation. He has received several scholarships, most recently the Monjoie Scholarship of the StädteRegion Aachen.
