The power cord for my old radio broke...by shopping Best Buy I found that it was cheaper to purchase a new radio as opposed to just a replacement cord. the Onyx is an awesome radio for the price.

The perfect receiver works just like it should and we plug it into a sound doc which really makes it sound fantastic. Great reception at a great price well worth the dollars.

We love our ONYX radio. This particular one is on our 2007 HONDA GL 1800 Motorcycle. We would be LOST without it, and haven't been without it for 120,000 miles! We started with a ROADY, then in 2011, we upgraded to a ONYX. About a month ago (March 2015), our radio was cutting out, so we liked the ONYX so well, we purchased another one. When we were installing the new one, we found a lose wire, so we found out there was nothing wrong with the radio we had just replaced. OH WELL, we just kept the new one, and enjoy every mile with our favorite music. By the way, we also have XM Satellite radio in both of our other vehicles 2006 Silverado and 2006 Impala ever since we purchased them. It would be difficult to live without them. Great product...

the fact that you can move it from car to car ( with purchase of the items needed) I simply purchased a second one since best buy has them so cheap ( 20 bucks) and used the power supply, adapter, and antenna in my second vehicle, put the other radio away in case I need it in the future, and simply swap radio from one to the other! The radio just unplugs from the cradle, then just plug it into the one in the car, cheap and simple!!

The install for this device was fairly easy; however, the vehicle itself was a little challenging. The car is equipped with panels that required tools to dismantle so that we could hide any wiring accordingly (for the antenna). I would have rated this all stars if the antenna was wireless (radio to signal receiver)

This basic no frills unit has all the essentials. Setup is easy, Reception is strong in the car and at home. Antenna placement does not seem to be that critical. Sound quality is good. Channel changing is easy in a car. No touch screens or submenus to fool with.

Very easy install and great sound. I paid just under $40 for the unit which included the car install kit. My only knock is that in the hot Carolina sun, mounting this to a vent takes up prime A/C! The mount is "quasi-permenant" in the sense that you can take it off, but it's not ideal. You have to mount the antenna to the exterior of the car (magnet) so you end up having to hide the wires as best you can. Bottom line is, for an introductory satellite radio, it's just as advertised.

If you're looking for a simple radio without all of the fancy add ons you'll never use, this is the radio for you. Installation was simple, activation took no time. The only con is it does not have a remote, but I ordered one from the siriusxm website for $8.

This setup is cheap, easy to install, and can be transferred to an indoor radio setup just as easily. My only three gripes are these: 1) The radio quality itself is 'tinny' sounding, even on a newer OEM sound system. The volume controls are also tricky to work with using an existing stereo, which makes me not want to touch the volume settings when I get it set where I want it. 2) The satellite receiver itself has no way of securing to anything - it just has little rubber nubs on the base, which do practically nothing. Considering you have to have the receiver in an unobstructed location, such as your dash - where I have mine - if you take a hard turn, it goes flying. I have considered buying a small roll of VHB tape online and using that to secure it down, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. 3) The anchor pivot that the radio sits in does not stay where you set it, even if you tighten the nut around the pivot ball as tight as it can go; So the radio ends up jostling around and slumps down, finally resting with the screen pointed at the ground. Irritating, but tolerable. I may have just gotten a bad anchor - it happens. I have numerous gripes about the Sirius/XM service itself, but that's another episode. All in all, this is a great little setup and includes everything you need to get satellite radio set up in your vehicle quickly and easily. I would recommend this model for the price. If you want something that gives you more information, has more display options, etc., then don't buy this cheaper model - go with the more expensive models.

I purchased this radio thinking I was going to be in my car a lot. Service was great, loss when too many trees around but comes right back. I needed to pause service with Sirius until I am back to being in my car all the time and that was a nightmare. You can do everything except for cancel online but cancelling will require talking to no less than 4 representatives.

My wife wanted to get SiriusXM radio so she could listen to a couple stations she had heard. We tried the free trial first (highly recommend free trial to all) then purchased this radio because it was a fair priced product that had the features we wanted.

I really like this radio. My husband put it in my van - it took maybe 1/2 hour or so - a little finagling of wires, but all in all - it's pretty good. We got this for a trip to NC from our PA home - I have great reception for all the areas I drive at home, but on our trip - the radio went in and out ALOT - I will definitely buy the adapter that gives better signal strength (I believe it's around $18) for our next road trip. I called Sirius and got a great deal for $25 for 5 months.....don't ever pay full price for the service - it's just like cable - you HAVE to call and negotiate a good price...

This radio connected easily to my car stereo and is portable so I can switch between cars. It has good reception and is small enough to fit any car.

Simple setup with instructions, complete process took 30 minutes from installation to working transfer service. Great display and easy to set pre-sets and switch FM settings.

I move it around from my car to my office to my house, good reception everywhere, easy to use and not unsightly anywhere.

I love satellite radio, this receiver is easy to use in my older work truck where I cannot install an actual newer radio. It was easy to set up and has great sound!

This radio was perfect for my needs, which was for a cross-country trip over a few weeks. Setup and installation was easy as was the SiriusXM service activation. I only wanted it for when I take long trips across radio-barren territory. SiriusXM doesn't offer a package that accommodates this type of use. So, canceling service afterwards was a bit challenging. But the service (which isn't the focus of this review) was good, with lots of content to choose from.

I received this as a Christmas gift, and it's a nice basic satellite receiver. The controls are fairly straight forward, but the station preset buttons are pretty small which is kind of a nuisance if you have large hands like I do. I paid for Best Buy installation which was definitely worth it as I'm not sure I would have been able to mount the antenna and run the wire under the windshield weather stripping as neatly as the installer did. I really thought the antenna was built in like a GPS, but that's not so.
