About this product

Sub Pop marks the 30th anniversary of Six Finger Satellite's sophomore album, Severe Exposure, with an expanded double-LP edition of the album. All the material has been freshly mastered by JJ Golden, and the vinyl is packaged in a lovely slipcase with individual jackets for each LP. Formed in 1990 in Providence, Rhode Island by J. Ryan (singer/keyboards), John MacLean (guitar), Peter Phillips (guitar), Chris Dixon (bass), and Rick Pelletier (drums), Six Finger Satellite quickly signed to Sub Pop for the Weapon EP. Six Finger Satellite - The Pigeon Is the Most Popular Bird (Remastered) - VINYL LP

Sub Pop is thrilled to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Providence, RI noise-rock legends Six Finger Satellite's debut album, The Pigeon Is the Most Popular Bird with a new, fully remastered CD and double-LP reissue. Released in 1993, The Pigeon Is the Most Popular Bird is a landmark of noisy, distressing post-punk, drawing influence from Gang of Four, The Birthday Party, and Wire while adding a healthy dose of the band's own, unique sonic antagonism. Amongst the brittle rock tracks, it has dashes of ahead-of-their-time keyboard and studio experiments that became more prominent on the band's later albums, presaging LCD Soundsystem, DFA Records, and much of the early-2000s post-punk revival. Pitchfork rightly called The Pigeon Is the Most Popular Bird Inchone of the best noise-rock records of the 90s,Inch writing that Inchthe transitions from silly to searing highlight Six Finger Satellite's unpredictable and caustic approach... this was their most exhilaratingly bitter pill to swallow.Inch Album Tracks 1. Home for the Holy Day 2. Laughing Larry 3. Funny Like a Clown 4. Deadpan 5. Hi-Lo Jerk 6. Love (Via Satellite) 7. Save the Last Dance for Larry 8. Solitary Hiro 9. Neuro-Harmonic Conspiracy 10. Takes One to Know One

And and and - The Failure - VINYL LP

2015 from the alt-rockers. Winners of Willamette Week's 2011 Best New Band poll (past finalists have included Menomena, Starfucker, and Typhoon), And And And finally are releasing what can only be called the follow-up to that year's blur of output, culminating with the early 2012 Lost EP. They're known for truly epic live shows with no clear delineation between stage and offstage or audience member and musician. Recorded over ten days in San Diego with Rafter Roberts between skateboarding and drinking sessions, the record is fiery and urgent. It evokes classic grunge-era sounds from the Northwest (think Mudhoney and early Nirvana), but bleeds melody and passion all it's own. Album Tracks 1. Bow Down 2. A Real Case of the Blues 3. Things Just Go This Way 4. Oh My Love Is Sweet 5. I Can't Find It 6. Animals 7. Whiskey Shakes 8. One More Trip to Babylon 9. Desperately Ok 10. Losing Team
