Battle hordes of enemies in the untold story of the Imprisoning War. Fight the war for Ancient Hyrule! Step on to the battlefield as Princess Zelda, King Rauru, and other legendary heroes as you fight to reclaim your homeland—and live the story of Demon King Ganondorf’s invasion that was only briefly alluded to in the Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom game. Fight alongside new and familiar heroes to defend Hyrule from the Demon King. Princess Zelda is not alone in this war! Join Mineru, the Sages, and even some brand-new heroes in battles against Ganondorf’s forces. Combine powerful Zonai Devices with your heroes’ signature abilities to take down powerful bosses and their legions of minions. Team up with a friend in two-player local co-op via split screen or GameShare. Join up with a friend for two-player local co-op, and you can spread out to cover more ground as the war unfolds—or stick together and combine your powers to smash the opposition. Play split-screen on a single system, or on two separate systems via GameShare—either way, only one person needs to have the game. Use save data from Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity or The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom to get additional weapons. If you have save data from the Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity game on your system when you play, you’ll receive a High Guard’s Claymore. If you have save data from the Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom game, you receive a High Guard’s Sword. These weapons can be redeemed after returning to the Hyrule map upon completion of The Howling Tempest mission.

Create Mii characters based on family, friends, or your own original ideas—there are plenty of personality traits, little quirks, and physical traits to choose from—including some face customization options you haven’t seen before! Go deep into getting every detail just right, or create Miis quickly and easily by answering some simple questions, and then help them explore their likes and dislikes, find relationships, and get up to all sorts of fun. Your Miis are bound to surprise you as they take on a life of their own! Become the caretaker of an island full of silliness, drama, love, and other surprises. Populate your island with Miis and then pick them up and place them near each other to chat and hang out. Watch your Miis forge unlikely friendships, get into fights, fall in (and out of) love unexpectedly, and so much more as they live their lives! Get to know what your Mii characters like as you take care of them. Give them clothes, food, items, and—most importantly—life advice as they deal with all kinds of problems and situations. You’ll also naturally help shape the community as Miis may pick up and start using the words and phrases you teach them. Build, decorate, and give gifts to make your Miis happy. Shape your landscape! Design your island and place homes, stores, restaurants, and more to supply events and entertainment for your community. Decorate your Mii characters' homes by gifting them furniture, wallpaper, floors, custom-designed interior and exterior decorations, and more—and create pets, food, clothing, and items like books and video games to suit each Mii!
