SkaterXL on the Nintendo Switch is a great, smooth running game for people that love skateboarding. Previously releasing on PC and other consoles, the entire base game, and a few community maps make it's way onto the Nintendo Switch. Gameplay can be a bit challenging but also extremely rewarding when mastering the controls which has the user using the left analog stick to control the skater's left foot and the right analog stick controlling the skater's right foot. SkaterXL runs at a consistent 60fps.

It’s a wonderful game for the switch; if you have a disgruntled boyfriend who hates his job and would rather spend his hours performing hard flips on a device that brings him more pleasure than I ever could.

It’s a really cool game even if you’re not into skateboarding. Once you get the basics down it’s hard to stop playing it.

Although the resolution is much lower than other consoles/PC being able to play Skater XL anywhere I go is a big plus!

I was really looking forward to having this game but unfortunately it crashes when I try to complete the challenges; but not so much if you just roam around the courses freestyling. A few problems I was willing to overlook, like his leg getting stuck inside his body from a board grab grind, or when an Ollie move cancels itself at the very edge of a decline ramp. However, crashing me back to the Nintendo home screen over a dozen times just for completing the challenges makes the game unplayable for me. I tried to return the game but if the game has been opened, no returns accepted! Store offered to exchange it for the same game but no copies available. Then referred me to online customer support to ship it back if its defective. I followed the instructions and clicked defective. I received the shipping label and off it went. I received my original copy back today with a letter saying "It's been opened. No returns accepted!' Total catch-22 dilemma! How would I have known a game is unplayable without opening and playing it?
