About this product
2016 . For over a dozen years, Ross and Skye had been playing across the globe as Morcheeba, but Ross' brother, Paul - their co-producer, with whom they'd founded the band - had stayed at home. During this time, the inevitable separation between what happened in the studio and what happened live had become increasingly pronounced, and, as they observed the band beside them with delight, the singer and guitarist shared an epiphany. InchWhy don't we make our records feel more live?Inch The result of this revelation is Skye Ross, an album that pursues it's own musical path while returning to the roots of the sound that made Morcheeba a household name back in the late 1990s. It is, Ross explains, Inchwhat Skye and I do naturally when you ask us to make music together, and yet not necessarily a continuation of what we'd been doing with Morcheeba. It therefore felt only right to give it a new identity.Inch Ultimately, Skye Ross doesn't signify the end of Morcheeba, but rather a purge of sorts, an opportunity for the two musicians who have represented the public face of their band to exploit the musical relationship that has developed between them outside of the studio on stages around the world. InchOur intentions are really aligned,Inch Ross concludes, Inchand once you have that synchronicity with someone everything falls into place.Inch

Ross From Friends levels up with InchTreadInch, his keenly anticipated new album on Brainfeeder Records. Melodic, touching, nostalgic but brilliantly modern and original, it runs the full gamut from melancholy to euphoria. It's also sleeker and arguably more dancefloor-focused than his acclaimed debut album InchFamily PortraitInch (2018), but his signature personality is ever present. Ross From Friends made his debut on Breaker Breaker in 2015, 12Inch outings soon followed on labels Lobster Theremin and sister imprint Distant Hawaii, Lone's Magicwire and Molten Jets before he signed to Brainfeeder. His first on Brainfeeder was 2018's InchAphelion EPInch and his debut album InchFamily PortraitInch followed quickly afterwards.Ross From Friends' ever-evolving 3-man live show featuring a blend of guitar, keyboards and saxophone (last seen at Coachella 2019) is set to return to the US in Spring 2022.1.
