Skylar Gudasz - Country - VINYL LP

Shelter is the fourth album by contemporary shoegazers Alcest, the destination of a long creative musical journey into vast new territories. More than ever the French outfit consisting of mastermind and multi-instrumentalist Neige and drummer Winterhalter embraces the dreamy guitar textures of shoegaze and blends it with the sweetness of British band Cocteau Twins - dream pop pioneers of the mid to late 80's era - epic, soundtrack-like melodies and progressive song structures. The album which features guest appearances from Slowdive's Neil Halstead (lead vocals on the song InchAwayInch), Sweden's Promise And The Monster's Billie Lindahl and Amiina's strings sections was recorded at Sundlaugin Studio, Iceland, with Sigur Rós producer Birgir Jón Birgisson who masterfully gave InchShelterInch it's light and ethereal sound.

I find it fascinating how each piano is different from the next, says the 30-year-old Munich-based composer. InchSome instruments really open up your creativity. To play on a lot of different ones is the best way to come up with new ideas.[...] It's this fascination which drives CORRELATIONS. Having begun playing at an early age [...] CIPA launched his recording career in 2012 [...]. Since then he has expanded his artistic range, collecting instruments and building his own studio, culminating in 2019's Retronyms, an album he describes as Inchdedicated to the idea of creating my own sound worldInch. With this new , however, he has decided to return, in a sense, to his roots. InchI wanted to simplify the process,Inch he says, Inchby focusing again on the piano, but spreading the concept. Inch For CORRELATIONS, CIPA carefully selected six grand pianos, three uprights, a square piano and a Rhodes.
