Slava - Raw Solutions - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Hua Li's hazy R&B and revolutionary rap cuts to the bone and shakes your frail ass to the ground. Her critically acclaimed Za Zhong EP will be followed up by her debut full-length, Dynasty, out September 2019 via Next Door Records. She is also an active DJ, spinning alt rap favourites and cloudy house cuts. Subversive and sexy, Hua LI is the only half-Chinese, half-militant, half-rapper of your heart.Dynasty tells of Hua Li's journey as second-generation Chinese-Canadian woman and deals with topics like deceitful love, family power dynamics and the profound imbalance that emotional adversity can deliver. Written over several years, this album collects the most authentic and personal songs from Hua LI to date, from declaration of feminine power and grace, InchMasteryInch and melancholic and hazy party anthem, InchSocial MedsInch to devastating takedown of power abused, InchTell HerInch and twisted love story, InchOutwitted.Inch A co-production with Alexander Thibualt (a.k.a. Gloze), Dynasty is a combination of Montreal's tradition of rich, lo-fi future beat with a twist of jazz sensibility and rap braggadocio. Completed with support from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec and Montréal arts, interculturels, Dynasty is a fierce affirmation of self-representation for Hua LI.1 Paper Sons2 Social Meds3 Mr. Greenlight4 SidebitchExplicit5 MasteryExplicit6 Since U Been7 Recitation (Interlude)8 Meltdown9 This Chaos10 Tell Her11 Human Love12 Outwitted

Dance music at it's best regardless of genre was always the mission of the underground independent Afrowax tag which proved to be a breeding ground of inventive up and coming DJ producers from Japan, Canada, England, Germany and the U.S, many of whom went on to become household names. The Afrowax brand became synonymous with the speed garage and progressive house movements of the late 1990's. Sol Flava's InchRitmo Latino,Inch one of the classic singles from the cutting edge tag, features production from England's Aston Harvey and Andrew Galea. All selections newly remastered.
