About this product
Leah Wellbaum has never been afraid of her own humility or honesty. But she's never quite examined it the way she has now with Parallel Timeline. On Slothrust's latest album, bandleader Leah Wellbaum pushed herself to try and understand her own spirituality on a deeper level, putting a lens on the core wound of the human experience, the idea that we're alone. With Parallel Timeline, Wellbaum explores the feeling of being trapped inside her own consciousness while simultaneously searching for a meaningful connection to the universe, and all the mysteries it contains. Album Tracks 1. Cranium 2. Once More for the Ocean 3. Courtesy 4. The Next Curse 5. Strange Astrology 6. Waiting 7. King Arthur's Seat 8. A Giant Swallow 9. White Rabbits 10. Parallel Timeline

Having supported the Decemberists, Tapes N Tapes and Broken Social Scene, Montreal based LAND OF TALK are back with their glorious brand of Canadian Indie Pop. ELIZABETH POWELL'S vocals, honeyed and broken, recall Chan Marshall's warm disquiet and Julana Hatfield's bright. After more than two years of touring for their debut , and having gained and lost a few members, Land of Talk retired to their hometown of Montreal to roll tape on a batch of new songs. Clarity. Singer/songwriter/guitarist Elizabeth Powell set about making an album that could encompass a great deal with very little, an aesthetic in stark contrast to the orchestral pop and digi-tweaked indie chic. With bassist Chris McCarron and drummer Andrew Barr (The Slip), the band set up in an old converted church outside of Montreal and recorded 9 songs with the helping hands of Justin Vernon (Bon Iver) on the boards. The tenth and final track InchTroubledInch was recorded in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, at Vernon's parents' home. Album Tracks 1. Yuppy Flu 2. Death By Fire 3. The Man Who Breaks Things (Dark Shuffle) 4. Some Are Lakes 5. Give Me Back My Heart Attack 6. It's Okay 7. Young Bridge 8. Corner Phone 9. Got a Call 10. Troubled 11. [CD-ROM Track]
