Double vinyl LP pressing including digital download. Original soundtrack to the 2017 motion picture. Denis Villenueve's masterful Blade Runner 2049 features a score composed by legendary maestro Hans Zimmer. The score was composed in tandem by Zimmer and his longtime collaborator Benjamin Wallfisch. The duo was brought in somewhat later in the production process, after the score's initial composer, Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson, ceased involvement due to creative differences. Villeneuve explained his decision to replace Jóhannsson with Zimmer in an interview with Al Arabiya. InchThe thing I will say is that making movies is a laboratory,Inch he explained. InchThe movie needed something different, and I needed to go back to something closer to [the original film's composer] Vangelis. Jóhann and I decided that I will need to go in another direction - that's what I will say.Inch The decision seemingly paid off, as Clint Worthington notes in his review of the film Inch[Zimmer and Wallfisch] lean heavily on Vangelis' original 1982 score for inspiration, but 2049 is refreshingly light on incidental music, mostly allowing the booming, immersive sound design to take center stage.Inch In additional to Zimmer and Wallfisch's original compositions, the soundtrack features songs by Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, and Lauren Daigle. The Link Between 'Round About Midnight and Kind of Blue Milestones Is the Only Album Featuring Miles Davis' Original Sextet with John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, and MoreSourced from the Original Master Tapes Mobile Fidelity's Numbered-Edition 180g SuperVinyl LP Presents the 1958 Record in Definitive StereoRTI-Pressed SuperVinyl LP Benefits from Virtually Nonexistent Noise Floor and Superior Groove DefinitionMiles Davis created just one studio album with his original sextet Milestones. And he made every moment count. Pairing with Cannonball Adderley, John Coltrane, Red Garland, Paul Chambers, and Philly Joe Jones, Davis not only laid the groundwork for the modalism that immediately followed but tailored a genuine modern-jazz masterwork laden with performances among the most explosive of his distinguished career. Sandwiched between the more famous 'Round About Midnight and the epochal Kind of Blue, Milestones remains a seminal work of art.Sourced from the original master tapes and pressed on dead-quiet SuperVinyl, Mobile Fidelity's numbered-edition 180g LP grants each musician their own space amid broad soundstages. Afforded the benefits of a nearly non-existent noise floor and supreme groove definition, this vinyl reissue doubles as a time machine back to the February-March 1958 recording sessions.Colors, shapes, and dimensions appear in the manner that resembles what you'd glean from behind a studio control room's window. Davis' burnished trumpet is rendered in three-dimensional perspective and seemingly coaxes the band to play with unburdened zest. Coltrane's trademark saxophone teems with lifelike tonality and images with specificity; his solos work in tandem with and against the driving rhythms. Garland's swaggering piano lines? Visualize the keys as he hits full stride, the chords and fills slithering around skeletal frameworks.Inducted into the Grammy Hall
