A great live recording from the German leg of their InchFifthInch tour.

Among the most important and influential progressive rock bands of the late '60s and early '70s, Soft Machine initially featured a line-up of Robert Wyatt (drums, vocals), Kevin Ayers (bass, guitar, vocals), Daevid Allen (guitar) and Mike Ratledge (organ). Emerging from the UK (Canterbury) underground in 1967, they featured prominently at epoch-making London venues such as the UFO Club and Middle Earth to establish a powerful reputation over the next decade with a series of accomplished albums and some innovative concert performances; notably in the UK and France. After two albums for ABC/Probe, they signed to CBS with a line-up consisting of Wyatt, Ratledge, saxophonist Elton Dean and bassist Hugh Hopper, releasing this, their most successful long player, in 1970. Marking the beginning of their journey away from their psychedelic roots and into jazz and contemporary electronic music, it is unconventional to an extreme, consisting of four stunning side-long compositions, and is universally regarded as not just their best record but one of the best progressive rock albums ever recorded; one that pushed the boundaries of genre without being pretentious.

2xLP Deluxe Edition of Nonagon Infinity! The original album plus a bonus LP with 10 demos. New packaging includes an embossed gatefold jacket with gold foil stamping and a 24Inch x 36Inch fold-out poster. Originally released in 2016, _Nonagon Infinity_ remains the bands best selling album. Constructed as an infinite loop, Pitchfork claimed upon it's that the record was Inchoverstuffed with so many stomach-tossing thrills that you'll actually be jonesing to ride the roller-coaster all over again.Inch

'Thirteen' is the thirteenth studio album by classic British prog band Soft Machine. The album of superlative new material marks a fresh chapter in the group's 60-year history. Whilst the line-up of Soft Machine may have changed many times since the heady days of the late 1960s, the band's spirit of musical adventure, and the ease with which it freely avoids being pigeonholed has stayed a constant - as it moves from powerful progressive jazz rock to atmospheric psychedelia to free improvised jazz to ambient loop music.'Thirteen' features legendary guitarist John Etheridge, who has been with the band over 50 years and is once again in superb form. Whilst all four members of the band contribute compositions, the album's main composer is saxophonist, flautist and keyboard player Theo Travis, who wrote six of the album's thirteen tracks. The newest member of the group is drummer and composer Asaf Sirkis. The album is incredibly broad in it's breadth and scope. Tracks include InchOpen RoadInch a rocky track which sees the band soaring on all burners with fiery solos by both Etheridge and Travis; the ballad InchDisappearInch, which starts with ethereal looped flutes and develops into a beautiful piano led and drum less miniature. InchTurmoilInch, penned by bassist Fred Thelonious Baker, brims with deranged fuzz bass, manic solos and an almost unhinged clamour. InchDaevid's Special CuppaInch sees a cameo by founder member Daevid Allen (his guitar part being recorded years earlier, and the track built around it).On 'Thirteen' Soft Machine has never sounded more adventurous
