Softies - It's Love - VINYL LP

On their second album, Winter Pageant, The Softies move forward with focused delight. It's the combination of Jen Sbragia (All Girl Summer Fun Band) and Rose Melberg (Tiger Trap, Gaze, Go Sailor) that molds The Softies' panoply feathers and thorns, fawn and fearless, fable and friction.Originally released in 1997, Winter Pageant is the drama of utter melancholia documenting the broken promises, missed phone calls, conversations stalled, love lost. Colossal tasks recorded two guitars deep, forming a new Iliad, chapters on brave deeds and the power of love on the move. You can live for love, or you could live for the splendid cascade of guitar on guitar, voice over voice The Softies.Winter Pageant was recorded by Stuart Hallerman (Soundgarden, KARP) at his Avast! Recording studio in Seattle, Washington.

The Softies, comprised of Rose Melberg and Jen Sbragia, embody timeless themes of friendship and self-discovery through their minimalist pop soundworld. Since their formation in 1994, they've created uncluttered and fearlessly vulnerable music, contrasting with prevailing trends. The Bed I Made, The Softies' first new studio album in 24 years, showcases growth while reflecting on life's complexities with lyrics drawn from real experiences. Despite individual pursuits and personal losses, Melberg and Sbragia reunite, channeling grief and rejuvenation into an album that captures the essence of their enduring friendship and offers hope and renewal amid life's challenges. Through their perfectly-paired harmonies and telepathic playing, they navigate the present, past, and future, offering a poignant continuation of their musical legacy, resonating like time spent with an old friend who knows you best.

Howlin´ Sun - the band that proves that rock is most definitely alive. The band from Bergen, Norway, combines elements from 60-s British rock and classic guitar-heavy rock to create a modern sound and tastefully rude image. After playing together for a number of years, the quartet has made a name for themselves through their unique expression and live-show reminiscent of Hendrix´s early concerts. Lead vocalist Tor Erik delivers an impressive classic rock character on stage, and singing like the child of Robert Plant and Jim Morrison, according to dusken. No. Guitarist Magnus plays energetic riffs and solos over the solid backing of Torgrim and Pieter on drums and bass. With an arsenal of guitar solos and bass lines Howlin´ Sun engages the entire audience with a live show that has been well rounded over a summer of festival gigs such as Rekordfestivalen and KlubbØya. Their debut album will be released in early 2018 on Apollon Records and they are ready to play their way through the country. InchThis was quite a show! Finally a band that delivers the rock cliche, that own the stage and the audience. Howlin' Sun plays heavy, blues based 70's rock. And the guitar solos. My god those are some guitar solos.
