Smaller than most and does not put out a lot of heat to the sides because of the design, but we were searching for a bonfire pit that could sit safely on top of a cedar deck that was 10 ft off of the ground. This stove has an Ash Tray that is 4-6 inches above the bottom to keep heat from building up underneath the stove. Then you add in the "Stand" which boosts another 4 inches and has lots of holes for air to pass through and you get almost no heat build up from the fire burning above in the solo stove mid-section. This was a great design for someone who did not want to damage the surface the stove was sitting on. This was our primary factor in choosing this stove. The one problem we had was just burning any old piece of wood we could pick up and carry from the woods behind our home, sometimes you would get a "POP" from the fire that would send out embers onto the deck around the stove. We bought enough inexpensive pavers to make a 8ftx 8ft square around the Solo Stove to protect from this. So if a burning ember does pop out of the stove, it will not come into contact with our deck. We also bought a $25 fire extinguisher, just in case. But we have not had any issues since we put down the concrete pavers. Many safe fires made and enjoyed. This stove is small for the money and does not put out very much heat. It is the best burning stove I have ever had and is easy to start. However, the way it is designed, there is not a lot of heat that radiates out from the sides of the double walled stainless steel structure. Think of it as a really large YETI cup. The sides are insulated like a YETI and therefore do not pass heat. All of the heat flows straight up and out the top. So if you are sitting around the stove and it is below 40 degrees, you will find yourself scooting closer and closer to the stove, trying to stay warm. The insulated sides are part of what makes it burn so efficiently, but it also keeps it from radiating heat toward you. If you are going to use on a concrete surface, there are better, cheaper options for you that you might get more heat out of. Now if you wanted to cook over the top, then this is probably the best cooking/bonfire stove you can buy. Because it has cooking accessories and all of the heat is coming out of the top of stove at between 450 and 650 degrees and in a very even pattern, due to the design. One last note, it will smoke more than you think it should when you first start the fire, once the metal heats up and it starts drawing air the way it is designed, it will recirculate the smoke and perform much more to your liking. It is just that first 5 minutes, you may wonder why it is smoking so bad and not performing correctly, it will improve in a few minutes. Once the metal is nice and hot it does a great job of limiting the amount of smoke that gets on you and your clothes. We also purchased a box of small fire starter pieces that you light and forget. With those we have been able to burn almost anything in this stove from green wood to rotten wood, etc. We just start off with one fire starter and some nice twigs we grabbed off of the ground, then once the twigs are in, we put in a mixture of whatever we were able to collect from mother nature.

I’ve been using the Solo Stove Bonfire 2.0 along with the Stand and Shelter for a few months now, and it’s been fantastic. The Bonfire produces a beautiful, nearly smokeless flame and puts out a surprising amount of heat. The new removable ash pan makes cleanup super easy compared to the original version. The Stand is a must if you’re using it on a deck or grass—it protects the surface and helps with airflow. The Shelter 2.0 fits snugly and holds up well in rain and snow, keeping the stove in great condition. Everything feels well-built and premium. It’s a little pricey with the accessories, but the performance and quality make it totally worth it. Rating: 5/5

This is so beyond awesome. I was afraid that it would create a wildfire out of control that would scorch my manicured grass. WRONG. It didn’t. It made quite the bonfire that was nice and inviting. The next day after everything cooled, ZERO scorch to my grass. Disclaimer: you gotta get the base if you’re going to put it on a surface that can be singed. It’s an amazing invention, we enjoy this every weekend, sometimes we do smores, sometimes just make tacos and chill out (as evidenced in the photo).

Been looking at these for years… finally pulled the trigger. Amazing fire pit works nicely on our trex deck with the spacer. Much nicer than getting eaten alive out in the yard!!

Quality, construction, appearance, etc... are all great. Starts easy, burns fast and hot. It will smoke in the beginning (expected). When it was going really well, I added another log and it smoked and smelled. It may have been a bad piece of wood (it came out of the same bundle as the rest) but it was disappointing on that run. Overall, really good product that we like and use very much. But you will get smoke, just not nearly as much.

This Solo Stove has given my wife’s 94 year old grandfather the opportunity to spend time outside. He comments that if his face gets cold, he can just lean forward and his face is warm.

Family favorite - instant s’mores ! Easy to light up for a quick special dessert for the kids any day of the week. The portability is great. Patio to side patio or load it up in the car for an adventure. S’mores in the snow!

Seems to work good as long as you have small pieces of firewood. I have used it on my deck (composite) with no damage to the deck. Also there is not much smoke as advertised but also it get hot and makes it hard to roast marshmallows.

I have the Yukon version, while it isnt 100% smoke free, it’s pretty close once it gets up to temp and has a healthy bed of coals in it. I have been very satisfied with the craftsmanship and general quality. Definitely a high quality product. If you’re looking for the best transportable fire pit on the market, you cant go wrong with Solo, and with all the different add-ons that are available on their website, this thing is the Swiss Army knife of fire pits! Just remember to start small with your fire and slowly build it up to your liking, that seems like a no brainer but sometimes people can expect miracles from things. If you do make the purchase, know that you are getting pretty much the best you can buy!

This is the perfect little fire pit. I kept my eye on it for the past few months and I decided to do it. The deal Best Buy had was perfect and you received everything you need. It burns hot and fast and it’s easy to clean up. I ended up using it during a party and a few people ended up buying it once they seen mine. Definitely worth every penny!

Good item as described, fast shipping. This smokeless fire pit looks good and in a perfect size, good for backyard, easy to start the fire and burns really hot and smokeless, the only drawback is the shiny stainless steel look disappear after first use. Other than that it is a good fire pit.

We love our solo stove. Works great in our backyard and portable enough to take camping or to the beach! We love that it doesn’t let off as much smoke so we can use it under a canopy when it is raining!

this is a fantastic design product. Wood burns nice with only smoke when you first start it up. Once it gets going it is pretty smokeless. The only reason for not 5 stars is all the accessories are severely overpriced.

I am really happy with this fire pit. Cleanup is so simple with the lift out ash pan. The design of the fire pit efficiently and fully burns the logs resulting in a super hot area for doing hot dogs or marshmallows. Lighting the fire is a snap by crinkling a small paper bag for kindling and lighting it a few matches. I love my Solo fire pit.
