About this product

Throughout 2025 Solstice continued it's burgeoning renaissance with the issue of it's 8th studio album, 'Clann', which was received to great acclaim by the international press and in particular Prog Magazine, whose readers voted Solstice 'Best Band' of 2024. The band took this exceptional album on tour to headline gigs and festivals and their following has grown stratospherically. Riding on the back of the now sold out 'Return To Cropredy' live record, Solstice releases this new live collection from the Clann tour, recorded from their sell-out show on home turf at The Stables in Milton Keynes on 30 August 2025. Increasing the usual line-up by five, this gig included the uber-talented Theo Travis (Soft Machine, Gong, The Tangent and many other collaborations including Porcupine Tree and Steven Wilson) and was augmented by the 'Glass Brass' making this show a truly family affair for band leader Andy Glass. Whist this recording showcases 'Clann' in a live setting, it includes vintage favourites such as 'Earthsong' and 'Cheyenne' from the band's 1984 debut 'Silent Dance' (remastered in Autumn 2025), 'Wongle No.9' from 2023's 'Light Up', and 'A New Day' from 2022's 'Sia'. This is another essential live album which beautifully complements the 'Return To Cropredy' live . Modern day Solstice bringing more joy to fans, old and new

Couperin / Hecker / Alpermann,A. / Alpermann,R. - Oboe Works - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

The debut CD is always something very special for a young musician. the oboist Thomas Hecker, winner of the German music competition in 2008 and now solo oboist of the deutsche's Symphonie Orchester Berlin, ensures that his first genuine CD is also something extraordinary for the listener. masterfully he juggles repertoire, skillfully combining the baroque and modern together, as well as the serious and the amusing. his clever program compilation is exceeded only by the brilliant, warm-hearted performance of the young musicians. from Couperin to Berio, from Handel to Isang Yun - glowing chamber music!

Ben Gregory - Episode - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Episode is the debut solo album from Blaenavon's Ben Gregory. An album expansive in scope, it explores the singer's own relationship with close family, personal identity and mental health. Produced by Ben with Blaine Harrisson of the Mystery Jets, the album juxtaposes expansive pieces such as InchBlue Sea BlueInch, which is by turns Nine Inch Nails, King Crimson and The 1975, and intimate moments such as InchMother's SonInch, which applies modern production styles to the intimacy of Elliot Smith's raw confessionals, all centred by the unique vocals, devotion to melody and prodigious musicality of this most special of artists. Following the dissolvement of his prior group and his experiences of being sectioned, this is an album of real candour, bravery and also optimism from an artist refreshed and hopeful.

Various Artists - Take Four - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

TrombQuartet is a trombone quartet, comprising of the following musicians Piotr Banys, Wojciech Jelinski, Marek Kaczor and Tomasz Kaczor. All the artists are graduates of I. J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznan, and Hochschule fur Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin. They cooperate with prestigious institutions in their everyday professional lives, such as Orchester Akademie der Berliner Philharmoniker, T. Szeligowski Philharmonic Orchestra in Poznan, S. Moniuszko Grand Theatre, as well as I. J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznan. What is worth highlighting is the fact that TrombQuarter, which is among the precious few such bands in Poland, was founded in 2012. Ever since then the band has been giving concerts and developing their skills, mastering the unique sound of a trombone quartet, constantly working on their repertoire. During concerts, the artists present not only classical compositions from various periods, but they can also intrigue their audience with their original interpretations of jazz standards, film music, and even pop songs. They also like to employ the works of contemporary artists from the USA, England, Italy and Poland into their repertoire, who write dedicated pieces for the talented quartet. The band cooperates with the eminent composer of the young generation, Ewa Fabianska-Jelinska, who composes new pieces and arrangements for them.
