Son Lux - At War With Walls & Mazes (reissue) - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Ryan Lott's first two releases as Son Lux, At War With Walls & Mazes and We Are Rising, document one of the most compelling musicians of the 21st century finding a distinctive creative voice, while making strikingly original music along the way. Eleven years after his debut as Son Lux, Joyful Noise Recordings is reissuing the works on vinyl. In the last few years, Son Lux has shifted from Lott's singular vision into a three-piece ensemble featuring virtuoso musicians Ian Chang on drums, and Rafiq Bhatia on guitar. But Lott's initial Son Lux recordings still point toward an exciting musical future that contemporary pop music has yet to realize. Album Tracks 1. Flickers 2. All the Right Things 3. Rising 4. Leave the Riches 5. Flowers 6. Chase 7. Claws 8. Let Go 9. Rebuild

Meditative but heaving with energy, Son Lux's third full-length weaves disparate elements into songs both strange and welcoming. On the heals of being named NPR's InchBest New Artist of the YearInch, Son Lux created an album that sits as comfortably next to the compositions of Stravinsky, John Adams, David Lang and Ben Frost, as it does to those of Jamie Lidell, Björk, Flying Lotus, and Radiohead. Album Tracks 1. Alternate World 2. Lost It to Trying 3. Ransom 4. Easy 5. No Crimes 6. Pyre 7. Enough of Our Machines 8. Plan the Escape 9. Lanterns Lit

2015 , the fourth album by singer/songwriter Ryan Lott and Co. Now, Son Lux is a band. A trio, to be exact; one that has meticulously woven together dizzying percussion, fraying guitar, symphonic bluster, and haunting vocals into a quaking and vivid post-pop (post-everything) burst called Bones. The album combines all of the architectural precision and aural inventiveness we've come to expect, with more immediacy and melody than ever. That's all to do with the crew. Album Tracks 1. Breathe in 2. Change Is Everything 3. Flight 4. You Don't Know Me 5. This Time 6. I Am the Others 7. Your Day Will Come 8. Undone 9. White Lies 10. Now I Want 11. Breathe Out
