I was excited to see a Geek Squad Certified Refurbished Sonos sub come in stock, so I quickly ordered it. I’ve bought refurbished from Sonos before, and those items looked brand new, so I figured the certified Geek squad would have similar quality. I was dead wrong. First of all, the sub was poorly packaged. This is a really heavy sub and it was placed in a flimsy box that was too big with just bubble wrap. The box was already broken by the time it got to my door step. Luckily, the sub wasn’t damaged. But when I opened it, first thing I noticed was it was covered in dirt/dust all over. This clearly didn’t happen during shipping, as the dust was on every side of the sub. Looking closer, all the sides had scratches and some had larger scuffs and chips. It appears nothing was actually done to refurbish it as geek squad wouldn’t even bother to wipe it down. As for the actual product, the sub itself sounds amazing. It really fills out the sound complements the Sonos arc well. However, with the sub being that dirty and scratched, I didn’t feel it was worth the $675 price tag, when it was only $75 cheaper than a new one and also the same price as an excellent condition open box( if you could find one). I returned it the same day I got it. You would probably be better off finding an open box one, as they have different levels of condition and the price is further discounted the worse the condition is. This particular sub should have been discounted way more based on condition if it wasn’t listed under “refurbished” and was just open box. I would not recommend since the geek squad “refurbishing” is obviously lacking.

Best sub I’ve ever owned. It looks cool. It’s very easy to pair with other sonos speakers. I love it. Definitely worth adding with the beam or arc.

Ordered the open-box Sonos Sub Gen 3 in white. The Best Buy site said it was in excellent condition. I received it today and it was a mess. So poorly packaged, the product didn't come in original box, it was loosely packed in some bubble wrap in a large box. It bounced around inside the box and had gouges in the subwoofer. On top of all that, it did not even come with any paperwork or a power cord. I thought if it worked I could just get a cover for it and the defects would be hidden. I'm absolutely shocked that a best buy employee would packaged something like this so poorly and send it to a customer. NEVER again will I ever order anything open-box from them again knowing how this went. Somebody somewhere needs to increase quality control on things like this. This was a horrible experience and to boot I had to drive to a BestBuy store to return it. I hate giving bad reviews, but this one was earned!!
