My mom needed an upgrade from her 32" TV, but she has a small table where her TV is placed. Additionally, she sits in one spot to watch TV. The 50" X85K first came in view because the feet are the right distance apart to fit on her table. Mom watches sports, so the 120Hz panel also stood out to me over other TVs in the price range. The promise of Sony image quality added to the appeal of the X85K. I was able to get an open box excellent deal on the TV. I set up the TV for her this past weekend. I helped her get her YouTubeTV, Disney+, and Netflix all configured. After some tweaks, the picture looks great. SDR has lovely colors and smooth motion. For HDR, the TV automatically selected DolbyVision on Disney+. Even off angle viewing wasn't all that bad. Other plus: the new Sony remote is nice and simple. No more number pad makes it easy to use. Sound is what it is. Without a soundbar, it was okay, but I added a soundbar. Speaking of the soundbar, I connected it via eARC, but no sound came out. I did some research and found an article on Sony. After unplugging all the HDMI and power cables then reconnected them, HDMI first, sound did come out through the soundbar. Overall, I am very pleased since my mom is very pleased. She is so impressed and loves her new TV.

This TV is absolutely amazing! The picture image is vivid and bright with the color just lighting up the screen! The setup is about as easy as you can have. It took only minutes to get it started. I love all the apps available and how simple it is to add additional ones as needed. Sound is decent but I have a Bose system so a little biased about that. This is my first Sony purchase and I must say for the price, this TV is a fantastic deal. Highly recommend!

What sealed the deal for me was the recommendation from the salesman. They confidently endorsed this TV over others in the same class, and now I understand why. This Sony TV exceeds my expectations in every way and is undoubtedly the best investment I've made for my entertainment setup.

The picture on this TV is excellent, right out of the box. Calibration further improves the color sports, nature shows, and live TV. The 4K streaming quality is impressive. Adding channels is easy, but only a limited number appear as defaults. There are two quibbles I have that kept me from giving this TV a five-star rating. First, I was unable to program my FIOS satellite TV with the supplied remote. I could switch to FIOS TV, but I couldn’t record or play back shows. That requires the FIOS remote. Second, the remote doesn’t light up. All remotes should have an option light up when they are picked up so that the controls are visible.

The tv is of good quality. It was easy to setup. Some of the connections were a bit different due to having an older flat screen. The samsung sound bar doesn't connect properly to the sony model. I am happy with the TV over all. I had to choose this model due to the samsung model I wanted was not in stock. It was also more expensive than I had planned.
