I'm now a Sony convert!

I am writing this review only a day after my purchase. Im normally a die-hard Samsung TV guy and it's pretty much all I've ever owned. I was looking to upgrade from my older Samsung LED UHD 4K to a QLED model. Did my online research and settled on a Samsung 55" model QLED. My son works for Best Buy and one of his co-workers recommended this Sony model instead of the Samsung. I was hesitant bc I'm that Samsung guy, BUT after researching and seeing it in person, I was sold. The salesman explained that the vast majority of movies are shot with Sony technology and cameras, and that my viewing experience is going to be so much better with a Sony TV. He wasn’t lying ... the color, crispness and clarity are outstanding and the vibrant colors are simply second to none. Ease of set-up was simple and plain. The factory settings for the picture are fantastic, although I prefer the "vivid" setting which i changed it to. The remote is clearly understandable and simple. So many apps to choose from too. No imbedded ads either like Samsung TVs have. The stands are sturdy and solid metal unlike Samsungs which are plastic. The blacks are BLACK and don't appear pixelated as on other TVs. I run my TV through DISH Network with 4K HD broadcasting on 99% of my channels. The picture is amazing, even on standard non-HD broadcasts. I'm not a gamer so i can't comment on that aspect of this TV. If you're looking to switch or upgrade, do yourselves a favor and BUY A SONY!

Perfect for PS5!!

There is NOTHING bad to say about this TV. I purchased this a year ago mostly to use with my PS5 and it's been the perfect buy at a great price. No matter what I watch rather it be Live TV, or Apps on Google the picture is always great. Also can connect to soundbar and lock sound to it with HDMI connector and use one remote. Update to software makes the TV continue to stay relevant and features up to date. Playing PS5 there is no lag and the games like Spider Man 2, NBA 2K24 and Madden all look amazing.

I previously owned a Samsung TV and this Sony TV is a huge upgrade in terms of colors and brightness. I also really line the Google TV. I'm able you to customize it quite a bit and the remote has a lot of buttons. Nvidia GeForce now works great to stream PC games and play them with a mouse and keyboard or Xbox controller.

Sony Makes The BEST!

Awesome TV. We now have 3 Sony 4K TV’s. This one is in or Living Room. 55” was as large as I wanted for the room. It is perfect in every way. I am not a big tech guy so I will not go into all the tech items. All I know, for my eye Sony is the best. Great features and very easy set up. Paired it with a Bose 900 soundbar and both together make for a great experience. Just my opinion, but Sony is just the best. I have had Visio and Samsung but Sony is #1. Sorry if you were looking for a run down in all the particular tech items but I am just not into all that. I just know what fits my eye and Sony quality picture is by far the best so there you go. With any flat screen TV one must purchase a sound bar or other speakers. It is a must as these TV’s sound are so bad. I have to have great sound.

Can’t go wrong with a Sony

If you like Sony TVs, you’ll love this one. I have a bright sunny living room and was going to go with the X95J, but read several reviews that said the TV doesn’t perform well in such settings. The X85J is supposed to be better in this regard. From my experience it does handle the bright room pretty well. The TV gets bright enough. And even though the screen doesn’t combat glare very well, it’s not distracting. I only notice it if the movie has prolonged dark scenes. In a moderately lit or dark room there are no problems. Picture settings out of the box were good, but I turned off the motion settings to get rid of the soap opera effect. Haven’t done anything else except to adjust the color and turn up the gamma settings because the room is so bright The surround sound is good, but I’m not one for booming sound, so some may want a sound bar. It does have a good enough bass and speech is clear. The picture quality is astounding. Find one of those 4k nature shows on Netflix and you’ll be blown away. Old classic movies like Lawrence of Arabia are so clear. Fast action movies have little blur if any. Google TV makes it a breeze to set up. All the apps are there, I’m not bothering with the Fire TV I have. The TV serves my purposes well and I’m really happy with it. Highly recommend.

Excellent quality tv and with Google integrated with it I can download the apps that I use and stream instead of the presets that most tv has, the voice control remote is a added bonus and with the price of the tv under $1000 for a 55in 4k smart tv it's definitely worth it plus the feet was super easy to install no screws or tools needed just slides into place

Got tv on an amazing deal, so price was excellent. Overall very pleased with with its 4k and Hd picture quality. Not a gamer, but excellent refresh rate again for an affordable price.

Awesome tv!! Picture is awesome. Converts cable great if you don’t stream. Plenty of hook ups in the back for games, DVD player, speakers, etc. My camera I used to add pictures doesn’t do the tv justice. I’m very old school and just wanted to replace my old Sony that went out in my bonus room. This was an excellent choice that was recommended by an employee that listened to me.

This TV is just the right size for placement over our mantel. THe colors are sharp and clear, and it is so easy to navigate the apps and channels with the remote. A great upgrade for us from our smaller, older TV.

Excellent picture quality. Vivid images. Very impressed overall. About a thousand bucks and worth it. So far so good. Get it professionally installed. Its worth it.

I brought a 47" Sony back in 2006. It was time for an upgrade. This tv is awesome. Sony is the best. The picture is unreal. You have to see it to believe it.

Got this for my 80 year old father in law and he said “Wow!” when we started it up. He had a 1980s Sony Trinitron that was fading out and couldn’t believe the picture clarity.
