Q: Does this have wireless Apple car play or is a cable required?
A: Requires a wired connection
Q: Is the mic built-in or separate?
A: It’s separate, but included. It’s a mic on about 6 feet of wire that you can place somewhere and connect to the radio head unit. Plugs into the back of the unit. It’s about the size of a peanut in the shell.
Q: Is this truly wireless? Can I get get CarPlay to show up with using cord hookup.
A: Only some features are available wirelessly. You need to have you phone hooked up with USB cable to have all the features.
Q: What additional harnesses and installation kit will I need for my 2018 Ram 1500?
A: I had best buy audio guy installed my unit into my 2018 corolla. Each vehicle will require different assortment of accessories. The best buy audio installer will tell you what you need when you go in for consult.
A: I'm no expert but if this unit hooks up to the camera already supplied with your vehicle I think it would convey and show the same dynamic guideline view. To be sure call and ask Sony customer service.
A: You will need the connection bridge if you plan to do a seamless installation where you don’t cut wires. If you want to cut wires, Metra makes these, and usually BestBuy sells them, but you have to ask as they are in the install bay, no kit is needed for that. The steering wheel controls if you have them may also need a kit to make them work. This unit does CarPlay, and supports all CarPlay supported apps. Generally a CarPlay upgrade requires replacing the whole head unit with a Mopar unit, or something like this.
