A: I'm not familiar with the XG9 specifically, but one of the reasons I chose the Sony a68 was that I had an old Minolta Maxxum 7000 film camera and an even older SRT 100 with several lenses from different manufacturers. Some of them were manual focus and some were auto focus. I've only had the Sony for a short time, but so far all of my older lenses for the Minolta camera fit the Sony without an adapter. My understanding is that Sony acquired the rights to Minolta's technical data and the a68 camera is one in a series designed with Minolta's "A" bayonet mount. As such, any bayonet mount lens from an older Minolta SLR camera should fit. Hope this helps.
