Used to own “hand me downs.”

So after owning second hand and hand me downs, I finally decided to let loose of some money and buy a new system. I was originally going to go with Klipsch, but I’m glad I made this choice instead. I enjoy the mids, and highs the speakers produce (The sound fills our space with no problem. We live in a 1400 soft Townhouse). I spent multiple hours with the “burn in”, and there is a great quality of sound that they reproduce. I purchased four of the towers, a couple bookshelves, and center (I already had a nice subwoofer). I married them up with the Onkyo TX-NR656 (7.2 ch) receiver. As of yesterday I finished off our entertainment area with the Samsung UN65MU8000 television. Everything looks and sounds great!! I would definitely purchase again, and recommend to a friend.

Great looking speakers - perfect size for mantel!

Center channel seems to be mostly for dialog, but I've had no complaints for these speakers. They fit perfectly on my fireplace mantel. My TV is mounted at the perfect height to allow sufficient room for the speakers to emit sound without being blocked by the screen.

Nothing Like the SSCS5 Bookshelf Speakers

I originally got the SSCS5 bookshelf speakers due to the rave reviews all over the internet. Big mistake! Also ordered this, to go with them. The bookshelves were terrible and probably defective and one apparently blew at a normal listening volume. This speaker, however, is a much better speaker. The internet belief that this is just a single SSCS5 sold for the price of a pair, as a scam to rip off brainless big box store shoppers, is an absolute myth. I could easily play this speaker far harder and louder than the bookshelves. This pairs great with the Elac Debut 2.0’s that replaced the SSCS5’s. It also blends well with 4 Polk OWM3B surrounds. But for unknown reasons, this sounds better with video games than movies. May be a less compressed or noncompressed format in them? This gets 4 stars because for movies on Netflix and Disney+ the dialog is a little less crisp than other better speakers sound. Overall, this is a great speaker for the price. Another strange quirk is if I set the crossover to this speaker higher than 50hz, it makes the higher frequencies and mids sound muddier as if it adds more lower frequency sound to the tweeter. Completely inexplicable. Keeping it at 50hz drastically opens the high frequency soundstage. This is an extremely well made speaker. I tend to think a lot of the internet hate comes from on silly design issue. If you look into the rear bass port, you can see wires running behind the tweeter. Very sloppy looking for a brand like Sony. Especially when this speaker is definitely more expensive quality overall than the supposedly great SSCS5’s. They’re not great. They’re terrible! If they were on the level of this speaker, they probably would not have gone back to the store.

Bought this to match the sscs5's for tamber matching. Using the MultEQ-X app and REW combined gives me a flat response to create whatever house curve I want to use. Sounds extremely crisp and not to bright or boomy. Initially it was muddy sounding to me in my theater, after adjustments it sounds amazing!

This is a great center speaker for the price. I was able to find this on sale and after hooking it up to my 2.1 configuration into a 3.1, I can say that the dialogue that comes through it is really clear and definitely stands out between the left and right channels. It has great vocals.

Was not expecting this thing to be so large, it replaced a yahama center I have had for 10 yrs on the old system. Let me tell you, my old systems middle and l/r are the size of just this one speaker. The sound quality is amazing, well built wooden box cant go wrong with sony

Great sound at a fair price. The sound from this relatively small speaker is rich and full. Clear and with depth. I bought this to replace a previous speaker and the difference is vast. Solid choice for anyone wanting to help out their home Theater.

I am Highly Recommending this Sony Core Center Speaker for you're theater system. Sony doesn't come to mind when talking about surround sound speakers. I have to admit I was planning on buying the Polk T series but after hearing the Sony Core series Tower, center, and Sub I was amazed how well these performed. The Sony Core Center Speaker very clear, detail, and loud. If detail and clarity your thing, then I would immediately pick one up. As well the matching Towera, Sub, and the Surround Speakers too.

Good Choice for a Basic Speaker

I added this economical Sony center speaker with the intent to improve sound, especially dialogue separation for clarity. It has improved it somewhat. I will definitely upgrade in future as I build out a better, basic home-theater set-up. But for now, it does what I expected and I'm pleased.

We have been happy with this center speaker. The dialogue is clear and the presentation is flat. Just a heads up, it is quite a bit taller than a sound bar. If your TV is set up using the stand (sitting on a media center), this speaker will block some screen. You will need to either mount the tv or move the center-channel speaker (not ideal).

This center speaker is very powerful, loud, clear, harmonic for vocals and instruments as well. And when you adjust the treble on your receiver this speaker warps you to the highest place in sound engineering and performance.
