Honestly, it’s a great controller. It’s a little bit expensive, that right there I cannot deny. But, considering every other PlayStation controller I have had has always started to develop some form of stick drift right around a year of owning. So the idea of being able to swap out the joysticks at will for a fraction of the price (of course with the investment of this 200 dollar controller as apposed to a 70 dollar controller…) was a really big selling point for me. Now, I don’t really bother with all the extra buttons that much, but what I do like is the controller profiles and fine tuning you can do for a more personalized experience in gaming and how your controller operates in accordance to YOU! From every last button and trigger to the joysticks themselves. Now, I am a little bothered the profile buttons don’t operate anything else to my knowledge, But, That is not what I bought this controller for, I didn’t even know it was a thing. However that’s what ended up really making me happy I bought it. There is also a usb-c locking mechanism that will lock the charger onto your controller so it cannot accidentally become unplugged or…well I don’t know your guess is as good as mine as to why you'd need it but I still like to use it. One of the things I’m not a big fan of is the detachable faceplate to get to the joysticks themselves, the faceplate is not the greatest, I don’t like the cheap shiny plastic look, feel and unfortunately the edges around the plastic feel very sharp sometime. I have thick enough skin to where that’s usually a non-issue but it’s just noticeable. It hasn’t caused any issue yet and I haven’t felt the need to give it a light sanding around the edges but, that may be something to look out for. Or maybe mine is a fluke, irregardless it didn’t bother me enough to deal with it, return it or make me unhappy with the controller, just something to point out. If you’re on the fence, just get one if it’s comfortably in your budget and play around with it. (or do what I did and finance it thru Best Buys credit card. Pretty sure with their 18 month financing it’s no interest for that time frame if your purchase is like 500-600 bucks. So go get whatever it is else you liked that you've been putting off…not a sponsor lol) Anyways yeah. Good controller, will update the review if anything big enough worth noting on comes up.

Fuller feel in the hands. The back buttons are a nice feature. Details throughout controller. Easy to customize and set the controller to your preferences with button layout and analog stuck motions. Maybe the only downside is battery life is shorter compared to the original controller but with the amount of features this controller has it makes sense. Braided usb cord. Case for the controller. Overall a great buy.

Right out of the gate the DualSense Edge surprised me with its feel in the hand. The grip is comfortable and slippy-resistant, and when you’re in the heat of a session you notice the difference. On this front, it builds on the solid base of the original DualSense, but takes it up a notch. I found myself more relaxed during longer play sessions. Fewer hand-itches, less wrist fatigue, more confidence in my inputs. What sets this controller apart are the features geared toward serious play. Swappable stick modules, magnetic and lever rear paddles, and trigger hair-locks give you tools to tailor the controller to your style. For example: you can shorten trigger travel for faster firing in shooters, or swap stick types for more “snappy” analog response. The PS5 (and PC) integration is smooth — you can program multiple profiles (ideal for switching between FPS, platformer, and racing setups) and flip between them mid-game. The software is straightforward, which means you spend less time fiddling and more time playing. In my time with the controller, the benefit of the above customization became tangible. In competitive matches I felt sharper: faster trigger pulls, less “dead zone” in analogs, the rear paddles allowing actions (jump, crouch, reload) without lifting thumbs from sticks. The “pro” feeling is real. No product is perfect, and the DualSense Edge has a few areas where you may need to temper expectations: Battery life: While fine for many, wireless sessions tend to run ~5-8 hours depending on vibration/haptics usage. This is a step down from some peers. Weight: It has a heftier feel (because of the added features), so if you prefer ultra-light controllers you may notice it. Rear paddle layout: Some competitive-style gamepads offer more paddles or different configurations; the Edge has solid offerings, but it’s not “every possible configuration.”
